Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon, 1st round pick

Hm.

If one of these 2 is not the 4th piece, Columbus will officially become the worst run organization in professional hockey (rejoice Islander fans!).

Yikes, accurate.

Anisimov, Erixon, Dubinsky and a 1st

Decent, but not great deal for the Rangers. They're no worse for wear up front, but a gaping hole still exists in its d-corps. Now that Erixson is gone, there's virtually no organizational depth on defense save for McIllrath, who is hurt and not that great to begin with. At this point, does Wade Redden get called up?

They had a hard enough time winning games in the playoffs with four defensemen. Will be very difficult for them to last an entire season with that especially if one of them regresses toward the mean.

Good deal for CBJ. Losing Nash sucks, but they picked up 3 solid pieces and a lottery ticket. About the best you can do under the circumstances.

lol they got two overpaid role players, an overhyped d prospect and a low first rounder for a stud in the prime of his career. Another Sather heist

Like DP26 said earlier, at least it means Dubinsky is no longer wearing Rags' blue. He always seemed to play well against us. That's the only bright spot I can take away from this as a Devils fan. I think this deal is a steal for the Rags as Anisimov is not that good, Erixon is a completely unknown quantity, and the 1st round pick is likely to be later in that round with a 50/50 chance of panning out into something productive for Columbus. Plus, they get to retain their entire defensive core, can use Kreider to replace Anisimov, and have Nash replacing Dubinsky. They are a better team now than the one we beat in May.

This.

I'm not sure how this can be justified as a win for the CBJ. That's just purely wishful thinking.

It's not wishful thinking. Nash is on a TERRIBLE contract right now. Dubinsky is the kind of forward every team needs more of. Anisimov isn't overpaid at all (neither is Dubinsky). Then there's Erixon who's an interesting player and a 1st round pick, which is whatever. It's a solid haul for a guy who is on an awful contract until the end of time.

Nash cap hit of $7.8 mil until 2018

Richards cap hit of $6.7 mil until 2020

Double ouch.

The rangers also get a 3rd rounder and a minor league dman. Columbus is such a joke. Dubinsky and anisimov werent big factors in their first place finish this year. They are a better team now. It would be great if lou would do something cause if philly gets weber then we falling behind the pack for sure.
