nmadd
The Devils went 6-1-1 against the Islanders last season, outscoring them 9-3 in four wins at Nassau Coliseum. New Jersey has at least one point in seven consecutive visits to Long Island, going 5-0-2.

John Wensink
Win tonight and we'd be going home no worse than 4-5. I'd take it except I'd rather beat the Rags. Hell lets go 5-4, the trip would be a huge success in my mind.

Devs4LIFE
Any one know what the lines are going to be? Pretty much the same for offense I would assume. But anyone know if Brookbank will finally get a chance?

thefiestygoat
Go Devils! I hope we see Brookbank over Rachunek.
puckrock
I'll be at the game. Here's hoping they can pull out a win! If there was ever a game for Marty to get his confidence back, this is it. I do have a sneaking suspicion that Weekes will be starting though. Either way, LETS GO DEVILS!
Confusious
Weekes gets call Kevin Weekes will make his second start of the season in net for the Devils in tonight's game against the Islanders at Nassau Coliseum. Weekes, who got the word that he would be starting at the morning skate, has not played since making 32 saves in a 4-1 win in Florida on Oct. 6. The Devils were originally planning to start Weekes on Thursday night in Philadelphia, but decided to give Martin Brodeur starts on consecutive nights in hope of getting him on a roll. "We knew we were playing three in four nights here and we had discussed getting him in one of the three games and the decision was to do it tonight," Devils coach Brent Sutter said. Brodeur's 38 career regular season wins against the Islanders equal the most he has against any team. He also has 38 career wins against the Rangers. He went 6-1 with three shutouts in seven starts against the Islanders last season. Brodeur also did not start against the Islanders in the Devils' final regular season game of 2006-07 because the head coach and general manager Lou Lamoriello wanted to rest him for the playoffs. Brookbank to Lowell Those of you hoping to see defenseman Sheldon Brookbank make his Devils' debut tonight will have to continue to wait. Brookbank, who was claimed off waivers from Columbus on Oct. 2, was sent to Lowell on a conditional assignment and is expected to play in tonight's game at Worcester. Brookbank's minor league assignment is only temporary, though. The Devils can't officially send him down without putting him through waivers first. Judging from today's morning skate, the Devils will stick with the same line combinations and defense pairings as the last two games. Brookbank's absence leaves them with no extra forwards or defensemen. Forwards: Elias-Zajac-Gionta; Zubrus-Parise-Asham; Pandolfo-Madden-Clarkson; Rupp-Pelley-Brylin. Defense: Oduya-Martin; Greene-Rachunek; Vishnevski-Mottau.

thefiestygoat
I was hoping to see Brookbank in over Rachunek. Hopefully he passes through waivers but I wouldn't be surprised if Colombus re-claims him. I am a little surprised Weekes is in, sure the Devils have played a lot recently, but they have a lot of off time coming up. At least we know they are serious about resting Marty. Confusious
I would've rather seen Brodeur in tonight, then Weekes against the Rangers. Edited October 20, 2007 by Confusious
Weekes Head
Can we please source our articles? I know it's from Gulitti, but you really should source anything you post here if it's not your own.
Devs4LIFE
Anyone know if the Islanders announcers are going to be on FSN tonight? Or do we have the pleasure of listening to Doc and Chico? If it's the the Islander's announcers I don't even know if I'm going to watch the game.
