NJDevs4978
I'm not sure I buy the rationale he might be the last. There's always going to be good pitchers that can hang around 20 years and win a lot of games...but it certainly is going to get much rarer. And a great accomplishment especially in this era of hitters and specialized bullpens, especially with him being I think only the fifth or sixth lefty to accomplish the feat. It was nice of the Cub fans (and the Brewer fans earlier this week) to salute him when he left and cheer for history in the ninth, and they even gave him a congratulatory message on the scoreboard at Wrigley. This game was a nice capsule of what's made Glavine successful. 6.1 innings and 2 runs given up against a good lineup, but even more than that he did good things at the plate, an RBI single for the first run of the game and a groundout and sacrifice bunt that led to a run. TravisZajac
I saw the game during the 9th inning on Soapcoast....I was really surprised at the way the Cubs fans applaud him..I was sure they would boo him, But hey thats nice! Congrats to Tom Glavine!
Derek21
It was nice for sure. I liked how he got congratulated by each teammate and then embraced his wife, kids and parents. Very cool. Awesome to see. I hope someone gets there again. But unless Johnson's cranky back holds up for 16 more wins, it looks unlikely.
NYGDevils32
The way the game is played today, and the 5-man rotation, Glavine very well could be the last 300 game winner. Congrats to him.
