  1. Thanks ghdi and fiesty for the advice! I actually went with a center ice view. Game 5, Section 212, Row 7. I managed one preseason game this season in Albany and the last time before that was the home opener in 2006 at CAA. This is a long time coming. I can't wait!
  2. I have yet to go to a game at Prudential Center. I have been away from Jersey for a while but I refuse to miss this. Can anybody tell me what the view is like from the uppermost balconies sides and ends?
  3. I need tickets as well. Single seat will do, I'll go alone, I don't care, I just don't want to miss this. Games 2,5,7. Whatever I can get for a fair price.
  4. Lets get it tied up and put them back on their heels like in the 1st. LGD!
  5. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but sentiments like this don't help a city get any better. Great things are being done in Newark and despite this ongoing saga of bullsh!t between the Devils and the administration, overall I wish nothing but the best for New Jersey's largest city. It's in everyone's best interests to hope and when capable actually work toward Newark's prosperity.
  6. "Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear." - Mark Twain Master the fear. DESTROY THE RANGERS.
  7. I am in total agreement with this and view tonight as an aberration. A horrible, potentially disastrous aberration. Maybe I'm optimistic but I hope this kind of officiating mess does not happen again. Till I see if that's true I'm going to try to focus less on the refs performance and more on ours. Feeling real good tonight!
  8. I guess I've been wrong about what the orange on the refs sleeves meant till tonight. Despite their best efforts they can't keep us down! GREAT WIN!
  9. They reported the herniated disc on NHL Live with EJ Hradek and Deb. Not sure if they're just going off Chere since they didn't mention a source.
  10. I am unfortunately in the same boat. If it's gotta be radio I'll do that but I wish I could watch it. Either way LGD!
  11. If Kovy's camp was not informed prior to the press conference then it would be seriously damaging to the organization. How will players/agents trust our management in the future? It will affect everything we do contract-wise while Lou remains at the helm. I hope we hear very soon that ALL parties were informed of the rejection (or possible rejection, which story turns out is true).
  12. Does anybody know where all this "Lou Knew" controversy crap is coming from? I'm only seeing it on ESPN per Scott Burnside. A less than reliable source but this is what they're playing on their ticker and programming. Did anyone see this before Burnside reported? Any ideas on possible source or is it safe to assume this is Burnside being his usual self? If he's making this up, this crosses the damn line, that's a very serious accusation.
  13. Amen, brother. May I put this in my sig? Properly credited of course. Slightly more on topic: While I think we have a wee bit of a persecution complex here I believe the flurry of negative activity among other team's fans is showing that there is at least a little resentment against the Devils organization. We fly under the radar until we're 1st place and manage to get into the playoffs every year, draft well, trade well, sign well (with notable exceptions) without having a 30+ year history (in NJ anyway), mass market, being Canadian, or being an underdog feel-good story, and frequently frustrating the "this could be our year" dreams of fans of teams that fit those descriptions. I'm not saying this is the attitude of the NHL or motivated this decision. I'll leave that to others to say and point out the evidence. But I find this sudden anti-Devils outpouring amusing. It's sparked a furious side of my Devils fandom that's laid dormant after too much pushover gameplay. I want to see that fury in the players, I want the rest of the league to fear us. I don't care how this "war" ends really... I'm ready for 82+ wars.
  14. That was my understanding of arbitration in general. You'd think a more specific process would be ironed out in large contracts like a professional league CBA. I guess it'd just mean more unnecessary contentious issues in CBA negotiations on how the arbitration process works out. Still, if it should go that far it's a bit unsettling that the fate of the biggest signing in our history rests on however a random arbitrator chooses to interpret a vague CBA rule and their view of precedent.
  15. Now if this goes to arbitration, who is the onus on here? The Devils or the NHL? Who has the prove the contract is legitimate or purposefully circumvents the rules? Does evidence of any kind even need to be presented or is simply arguments and the interpretation of the CBA and league rules by the arbitrator? What kinds of things is the arbitrator allowed to take into account? I'm seeing a lot here about court procedure and rules, which doesn't make much sense to me as this is an arbitration not civil court process. How does the arbitration actually work? Anybody have answers?
