SC Devs Fan
What does Burns see in this guy. He is a turnover waiting to happen who can't move the puck. Can anyone say anything positive about him.... except he's a Devil?

GetReal
msweet did say something positive about him....On May 13, msweet, The Enforcer, posted "Smehlik will not play as a Devil again" So there it is. Smehlik will not play again as a Devil. Unfortunately Burns didn't get the message from msweet.... because Smehlik has played in uniform on the ice during games 3 times since msweet posted that message . Dano and Tver may not see the ice in a game situation for the remainder of this series. So Albelin has earned the ice time and Burns must now like Smehlik on ice during the games or Burns thinks Smehlik is the best of the worst considering Dano, Tver and Smehlik. aylbert
Everyone said we need TiVo in this series... we dont. Its tough about Dano tho... Smehlik isnt doing much out there, but his plays arent costing us like Dano's did... and we've won 3 games straight with him on the ice in limited appearences... Unfair, yes. But thats just how it goes. I hope Dano gets back on the ice... and I also hope for his own benefit he retires this year. Stevens hinted that he'd prolly be retired before he gets into Dano's position...
Triumph
Too bad SC, because Smehlik's going to play until he makes a mistake. I thought he played a good game today.
Beck27
I was critical of Smehlik before, but he's done nothing to warrant being taken out of the lineup. In fact, he's been very good at tying up men in front of the net, something some of the other defenseman forgot how to do during the second period. NJDevs4978
Actually I thought Smehlik had one of his better games today
SC Devs Fan
The post was right after a giveaway i our zone resulting in a quality opportunity for the Sens. I must admit he did have a solid third period. Still rather see Kenny in there.

aylbert
Looks like TiVo may be the one never to don a Devils jersey again... I hope not, he has untapped potential... but knowing Lou...
JHofSec234
I agree, Smehlik had a pretty good game yesterday. Tivo must go. I am tired of "untapped potential". He hasn't shown me any reason why he should continue to don a Devils jersey. I think this is probably the point when Dano looks around and really starts hearing the voices. Hey, I love Dano, what he's meant to the organization, but it might just be time to hang it up, win or lose.
peteyvegas
His best game as a Devil. Maybe we could get him every year, come playoff time; like Claude.
Zamode
His best game as a Devil. Maybe we could get him every year, come playoff time; like Claude. Claude! Eh, I don't know about going out of the way to get Smehlik, Petey!
Z-Man
With Tivo due at least a 10% increase on his $3.6 mil salary, I agree that Tivo will be a casualty after the year. Granted the D is not getting any younger, but there are cheaper alternatives out there.
NJayDevil
Like David Hale.
peteyvegas
They may give Tivo another year to mature with the team. I takes a certain type of guy to play D for us. Remember, he was an offensive defenseman. Now he has to learn to pick his spots and sacrifice himself a little with the body. If he's willing but not quite able, then he'll get another year. If not, SEE YA!!!!
