Clemmensen the future? Are you guys all fvcking retarded? If you don't know what the fvck you guys are talking about please stop posting on these forums. Clemmensen is 31 years old. I understand he is younger than Brodeur but he is not the "future'. Brodeur is still one of the top 3 goalies in the league. Just because most of you guys are spoiled and can't stand to lose. So go fvck yourselves and go become Red Wings fans if losing in the playoffs means that much to you that you all start thinking irrationally.

I'm ok with losing, just not in the 1st round (AGAIN) Maybe the people at Rutgers are used to getting kicked in the balls, and asking for more the next season. Do you know how many times I've tried to Fvck myself, turns out I'm a 1/4 inch short, but I'll keep trying. If I were only 10 inches instead of 9 3/4,I would be able to tell you i do!

you guys all piss me off. you can blame brodeur for both the 1st and 4th goal. but he DID save a lot of shots that were definite goals if another goalie was in. Our defense can't clear the puck especially when we have our checking line in (Shannahan, Madden, Pandolfo). We were playing our checking line against Carolina's 1st line the whole game and that is what fvcked us. all season we were playing our 1st line with the other teams 1st line and Sutter decides to change it for the playoffs. You guys all bitch and just throw the blame on one person. Also trapping when we have a one goal lead screws us because we do not have the players to pull the trap off. We are not physical enough for the playoffs and that is what ultimately screwed us. We let Staal and Ruutu skate through our zone with out getting hit. Stop being so fvcking spoiled and bitching every time we lose in the playoffs.

yeah George haha, its Derliqu3

Just because you have to fvck yourself since nobody else will, that doesn't give you an excuse for being retarded and thinking a 31 year old is the future. Pay a prostitute to fvck you and then come back on the message boards with a cleared mind.

Well that go's for MOST of the teams in the NHL. Welcome to the New Jersey DEVILS (Home of the 1st round exits)

That doesn't make any sense.

Look, this isn't that hard. In fact it's quite simple. Let's do this in bullet form:

1. The defense is not playoff caliber. this deficiency is bound to show up during crunch time, because it's when these players are required to step up to a level they can't reach.

2. Goal #4 was bad. If the defense doesn't suck, the play doesn't happen. But it does, and it did, and Marty has to stop that one.

3. None of that means that Marty's a 'has been'. He's not the mythical Broduer, but he's not a has been. He just needs some help, offensively and defensively - more help than he's needed in the past.

4. Stop with the Clemmer talk. Please. Stop with the 'future', stop with the 'Clemmer would've won that game', all of it. Just stop. He's done nothing to warrant a GAME SEVEN start in the playoffs. Period.

5. Next season they have to find out if Jeff Frazee is the future. He's a very talented kid; if Terreri can get him to improve his rebound control he might be. If he's not then they have to find the future NJD goalie, and seriously start that search NOW.

IMO, bottom line is Marty isn't the current problem. He's clearly able to win another Cup if provided the proper supporting cast. The supporting cast needs to be of a higher caliber than in his heydey, however. That said, there have definitely been warning shots off the bow the last couple/three years that tell me he needs to play fewer games next year, and the team needs to face the scary spectre of Who's Next (and hopefully Frazee is that guy; we'll see)

Very good summary, if this doesnt put the stupid "blame it on Brodeur" talk then nothing will...

Ohh..That's right, I must've dreamed that he won all those regular season games for our team and helped us make the playoffs. Hmm..that's odd, they seemed so real.

So one good run for a guy for 4 months who was basically AHL fodder > 15 year HOF career and a bad Game 7?

I finally had the stomach to go through all the postgame interviews, and had to mention SOMEwhere how diasappointed I am with Marty's post-game comments... I guess this seemed like the most logical place.

"It was a great shot," Brodeur said. "All series long we didn't let him skate with speed with the puck down the wing, but for whatever reason with no time on the clock we let him do it. He made the shot he wanted and beat me clean."

WTF? Obviously he's upset, but he should have just kept his trap shut. Does he seriously think Staal was aiming for in-between his blocker and arm? And then to blame that goal on the defence? Maybe if he was screened I could understand it, but he saw that shot, he just wasn't fast enough. This isn't NHLPA '93 where 9/10 slap shots from the high circle go in. That shot was definitely save-able.

Really, really not happy with his comments. I don't think the rest of the team will be either. When has the team ever thrown him under the bus?

Were you expecting anything difference? Since at least 2003 he's given off that slight aura of arrogance, in which he often subtly deflects the blame off himself and onto his teammates. He was a great goalie that's let the acclaim go to his head, but isn't good enough anymore to back up that big ego. It's not that he's bad; just not as good as he used to be.

fvck all of you with the brodeur hate. this is not all on him. how many times did madden have the game on his stick and couldn't convert? why can't the D clear the zone in the last few minutes of the the game? it is everyone's fault, not just marty's.

I am going to have to agree with brodeurgirl here. What the fvck are you all smoking? What fvking game were you all watching. If you want a single point of failure for why we lost game 7 then I direct you to our D that could not clear the zone to save thier life. If you want a single point of failure for the series then point at the whole god damn team from Sutter down. This team won 51 games this season... a franchise record may I remind you. This series should ahve been over in no more then 5 but the lack of heart and killer instinct was taken advantage of by the candy canes.

i guess i was the only fan thinking that 4 minute penalty extending from 2nd to 3rd period was f'in huge because no one in the arena was pissed when they did nothing...bury the game then and it's done!!!
