  1. Last? Isn't Dineen their coach, and wasn't he doing such an amazing job, to the extent that they were considering possibly calling him up to be our next coach for the big club?
  2. He's been really, really bad this year. Very disappointed in his production. He makes good decisions when he has the puck, and I attribute that to the fact that he's a veteran and played with a team like Tampa for a very long time so he clearly has the experience, but he doesn't have the puck on his stick very often and he seems pretty slow out there. Palat, Haula, and to a lesser extent, Mercer, have been had this season. Mercer, like Luke, gets a lot of leeway because of his age. Those three guys having bad years, plus losing McLeod, really hurt the team and I don't think we're things we were counting on. That third line left a big hole. If the fourth line in Tierney Nosek Bastian Lazar actually had some type of above average season it wouldn't have been as bad, but those guys were your average fourth line producers as well.
  3. What a shame this team couldn't manage to string together a couple consecutive wins, or even win one game this weekend. The Isles also lost both this weekend, and the Wings just keep free falling. The Flyers are also struggling. So many teams left the door open for us to possibly snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The Caps are surging, but they're about the only ones (other than Buffalo, sort of).
  4. The Marino thing in my opinion is less excusable and more on him than it is the coaches. Reason I say that is because Marino's older and he's been coached by others in the past, so he knows or should know, how to play his best game and what works for him. Sure, sometimes you have to listen to specific coaches, but his regression I hold more on him as a player than anything else. He has to be accountable for his own play. Luke on the other hand, he's so young and this is his first foray into the NHL, so he gets a lot more leeway.
  5. Who exactly are you referring to and asking for? A physical forward who crashes the net? They got that in Meier. Or, do you mean just a physical body who will check anything that moves? They got that in MacDermid. I don't really understand who else or what else you think they're gonna bring in. Big physical players don't exactly grow on trees.
  6. Yeah, I'm still optimistic that he'll turn things around next year. He still has a ton of potential, absolutely, and yeah his offensive numbers have been pretty good, but his defensive skills really declined the second half of the season. I hope he makes better decisions next year.
  7. Luke slow at the end there. I'm sure he was gassed, but he looked lethargic. He's had a bad season. Needs to prove this was an anomaly this year and some back strong next season.
  8. Happy St. Paddy's Day all. I celebrated yesterday and will be golfing at noon today, much like the Devils probably will be in a month. I'll probably be done around 3-4 or so and may tune into the game, but it's no longer a priority. Not after her another big let down yesterday. Let's Go Devils.
  9. Nope, wasn't replying to anyone in particular. Just venting and ranting. Don't disagree at all.
  10. I'm almost at a loss for words. This team doesn't deserve the playoffs at all. Losing the occasional winnable game here and there is fine. It happens every now and then. But it can't happen more often than not, and it certainly can't happen in most wind do or die games when the season is on the line. There really was no excuse for their performance today and the end result. If I were the coach, GM, anyone else in a position management, and certainly as a fan, I call out every single player on the team. You guys are not good enough. You are bad. Maybe not at your core, but this season, you've been bad. There's no two ways about it. You've played bad hockey for 60 or 70% of the season and you've lost to teams who were absolutely beatable and that you were simply better than. Jack, Nico, Bratt, and Co: Right now, you are significantly overpaid. Let that sink in. You are bad hockey players. Enjoy the off season. I hope you bring more to the table come next October.
  11. I don't know that I've ever been more mad at this team than right now. What tlana massive disappointment. Following suit from the rest of this season. They have 17 minutes to change things.
  12. It's 10000% on the players for this showing today. fvck them all. Incapable of winning anything meaningful.
  13. Just saw the score. Oh Devils.......good season. Not really.
  14. Happy Birthday fella. Hope they win both days for you and us this weekend.
