Because if a goal is scored on a delayed penalty, the penalty is then called off. That's just how the rules are, and it's been that way for a long time. If you score on a delayed penalty than the penalty with the least amount of time remaining is wiped out. In this case there was no penalty but the delayed one so the delayed call is wiped out. I guess they wanted to let the fans know they can still kill penalties and score goals in between. Chicago has obviously been looking at video and are playing to Brodeur's weakness, which is pucks played from behind the net. But Brodeur has been playing very well.
