It's not like msg is lacking channels (they have 3) and loaded with premium content- tonight they're airing reruns of filler TV shows Courtside Jones and The Bracket- surely a devils game would get better ratings that that junk. DJ Eco Posted October 2, 2014 Share Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) Really not happy about Salvador only playing one game so far, a true testament to how truly useless he is to us. He looked the most out of shape and out of sync of our starters out of all 4 games played so far, and he's potentially going into the season with 1 game played under his belt. I'd say this is great if I knew he was going to be used in a limited capacity, but we all know that's not gonna happen; he'll be starting every game and in all situations, and I couldn't be any more scared of that than I am this season. What a joke of a captain, I'm embarrassed to have him leading this team, when you look at some of the great captains around the league. I don't know, to be the devil's advocate (not really, I guess), I imagine each game costs MSG a few thousand dollars to broadcast and I can't imagine it getting more than a few thousand people in the ratings. Doubt they want to do this for charity, to the detriment of us fans. What I really don't get is why the Devils don't stream the arena video, that makes no sense. First of all the guy isn't playing these preseason games simply because he's a 13 year veteran, the coaches know what they have in him and are more interested in getting the young guys experience. Are you equally upset that Andy Greene hasn't played much this preseason?Second, ability-wise, he's now clearly nothing more than a 3rd pairing D and PK guy, if he is asked to be more than that this season your gripe is with Pete not Bryce. To be honest I'm glad to have another veteran presence on the blue line when we're going with 3 other guys under the age of 23. Finally, the fact that Salvador has the C should have no bearing on the judgement of his play. To say he is a joke of a captain is just not right, you have no idea what kind of presence he is in the lockeroom (neither do I). But what we do know is that he is spoken well of by teammates and has never had a bad thing said about him. I hope I don't have to be defending Salvador all year (hopefully his play speaks for itself). In all probability he will miss a chunk of games anyway, but the guy was a piece of one of the league's best defensive and PK corps last year. Let's see him play some games before we kill him.
