"Quite frankly, all the players are getting paid too much and all the contracts are too long," general manager Lou Lamoriello said. "But if you want to compete in this market and you want to win, there are some things you have to do."

Q: What has Bryzgalov taught you?
A: I will not reveal all the secrets. It’s in between us goalies. We have our own language, But seriously, Ilya has told me stories about life and hockey

What type of a goalie are you?
I wouldn't say that I am a 100 percent butterfly goalie. I am a hybrid.
Maybe you try to mimic someone else, another goaltender?
No, I don't. Maybe when I was a very young boy I had an idol - Martin Brodeur

You would not believe how empty this building is.. If we had another 2k it would be embarrassing.. This one is midweek Thrashers when both teams are fighting for the top draft pick

Edit - I'm exaggerating a bit but for a Sunday against the Flyers its beyond sad

Don't want to turn this into another "Devils attendance issues" thread, but imagine if this team ever suffers through a 2-to-4 year stretch of irrelevance.

THE NHL MUST LOVE THE DEVILS - from who else? A RANGER fan!
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!

Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime?
- Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.

Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.

It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

882 points for Elias...it's a longshot, but he could crack 900 points this season if he has a couple of monster offensive games...

Elias looking like it's 2001 with that kind of speed. He has had a couple bursts lately. Nice to know he can still turn on the jets when he needs to.
