What are the Devils doing?!

Wow, I cannot beleave what I have been seing this season from you guys. The constant loosing is insane! You guys have a really decent team on your hands, but for some reason it just isnt working? Perhaps it is jsut because your tea is built to much for he old NHL or something? I noticed with the leafs that ever since we had our 5 injuries we have been doing alote better (mainly because the faster younger guys get a chance), but honestly, you guys even had more shots on net than us.

I also see alote of you guys blaming Brodeur. Us leafs were in the same position not to long ago were Belfour was getting blamed aALOTE, when in reality he was the one who was the main reason every game wasnt a blowout for the opposition. Once your offence picks up, everything else should gel back together. Your defence will begin to stop making mistakes, and your goalie will be even more confident and save more shots (brodeur is a frikin legend in my mind).

I even ehard there was problems in the locker room (one of the reasons the GM is holding off hiring a new coach). Something needs to be done quickly with the devils club if they want to start looking like something on the ice.

Anyways it really looks like your team is in a big mess, and I hope (for the sake of our entertaining rivalry) that you guys recover fast. Because even though the game today had its moments, it was incredably boring to watch. Perticularly the 60's style slow dance between Belak and Janssen. Gday.

Locker room problems?

I don't blame Brodeur at all.  He is the reason why every game hasn't ended up like tonight.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah, I was listening to the first part of the game today on the radio, and during the first intermission they were talking about the devils massive slump. Then they ebgan discussing something about problems in the locker room, and that the GM wants to fix the problem befor tossing a new coach into it all. Im guessing there is some fighting/blame games going on in their locker room.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were problems in the locker room, but I take everything Dave Shoalts says with a grain of salt. I'll believe it when it comes from a more reliable source.

As for the rivalry between the Devs and Leafs, it has always been one of my favorites. Its never been based on the quality of the teams though, as much as on cheapshot tactics. Its nice to see that will never change...

EDIT: If Brodeur said that earlier than I must have missed it. Like I said wouldn't surprise me much :noclue:

Locker room chemistry is obviously a huge part of making a team successful. Having fun while playing makes winning and losing easier to grasp.

The bottom line, I see about fifty percent of the Devs team actually battling night in/night out to make something of the game. At this point, the other fifty percent just don't care what the results are...no heart, no passion, no zeal for the game...

For example, as much as the Washington Capitals have been less than impressive in the stat book this season, at least they hustle...the Devs on the other hand get that kind of performance from a select few individuals, namely Brian Gionta, Pando, and Mad Dog...

I'm disappointed...here's where I start...

1. Viktor Kozlov- he should be a number one or two center for the team, and yet, he's as inconsistent as an outbreak of herpes...I mean, this guy, you can never tell when he's gonna actually show or not...

2. The Defense- collectively, the defense has revealed gaping holes in its armor, besides Paul Martin and Brian Rafalski, the devs defense is as lackluster as coal miner's boots...and don't kid yourself, Raffy has been less than impressive on defense..

3. Marginialization? The team has absolutely no identity, and thus, there have been formations of "cliques" on the team. With that being said, it is difficult to succeed when you can care less about the guy jumping on the ice after you...

My suggestions~

Make a move (don't ask me how)...but, first things first, send Kozy to another team that could find use for his inconsistency...get rid of Raffy...he's no Niedermayer, and his overinflated salary, along with his shaky defensive play is doing this team nothing but damage. In addition, it's not like the guy is "Mr. Personality," and so he brings no intangible value to the team...he's great to have, but in the world of salary caps, he may need to be elswhere...the Devs need leadership, and Raffy, in my opinion, doesn't provide that for the money he is being paid...

Crunch Time- Lou needs to decide soon if a fire sale is in line for the team. Do you try to salvage the season, or do you just give up, and start re-loading with parts that may actually work in your favor next season? Maybe bottom out, and hope for a high lottery pick...

Honestly, if the Devs make the playoffs, what point does it serve? I mean, they are barely playing well enough to stay in regular season games...I would much rather see a team the likes of Atlanta make the playoffs...at least they have a fighting chance of succeeding....

Remember the last time there was dissention in the locker room with the Devs...? Randy McKay and Jason Arnott found themselves on a plane to Dallas, and Petr Sykora followed them out west during the summer...

Who shall it be this time?

I just wish these guys knew how lucky they had it to play a game for a living...it should only be so easy for everyone to just show up, and have fun...

Happy New Year!

of course there are going to be locker room problems.. .the team sucks balls right now... its rediculous but its the same thing as rooting for the washington capitals... no offense to them... but they are a team that recently arent used to too much winning... and it sucks to feel like that. they feel like it on a regular basis. we have been spoiled with our success... the cap room will go up for next season... i still think this season has possibilities... but next year we can have the same team.. minus matvichuk, kozlov... and mogilny.. and mcgillis.. and add quality stars

This team was starting to slide during the "04 season. The system was historically breach loaded and now we're lucky the D can get out of our own end. In "04 you could see more non-participation in the attack from the defense. Now it's non existent. Once Stevens started to back off the attack, the rest of the D watched him and continued down the slope. Now they practically play back at their blue line even during a power play. Without their help, our little guys get pushed around in the corners at will. It's a shame, but we still believe Louie has some tricks left.

I think those unhappy campers are making it easy for Lou to decide who to trade. Their crappy lackluster play screams, trade me now. I think the sooner Lou elimates the slackers the sooner the team will make that last rush for a playoff berth. Until till Lou makes a move, this "team" will continue it's slide.
