gata
Boston Fans take to twitter to blast Joel Ward for the winning goal. http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2012/04/capitals-joel-ward-scores-game-7-overtime-winner-bruins-fans-unleash-n-word-barrage-on-twitter/
DevsMan84
Very sad these people have to resort to that to vent their fustrations over the loss.
Legion15
Sounds like something you'd expect out of philly fans...if they didn't have a black player
Satans Hockey
Like I said in the other thread, if you don't think this would have happened in the other 29 cities as well then you're kidding yourself.

Daniel
Ugly as it is, I would say it shows Boston's idiotic side. I'm sure that there would be fans in every city who would have those thoughts if their team was in Boston's position. That's bad enough. But the fact that you broadcast it to the entire world on Twitter? It even looks like some of those morons actually have their picture displayed with the comments. These people are in for a very rude awakening if they're ever on the end of some kind of discrimination lawsuit. They could even be fired by their employer for fear of something like that. People never cease to amaze me.

I'm sure in the Midwest or something. It's still mind boggling.
Daniel
I'm sure in the Midwest or something. It's still mind boggling. I know a lot of fans from other cities. Believe me, it wouldn't be just the midwest.
coldply123
I'm not surprised. I've never understood the pass Boston fans get. People like to wax poetic about all the history their sports teams have had. They have as much of an ugly side and history as the Philly fans do. eaglejelly
Besides the inexcusable content, I am amazed at the stupidity of the people to post this publicly
Triumph
This would exist in other cities (and certainly we'd have to translate in Montreal, but wow, it would be prevalent there), but to the extent that it did here, I don't think so. If you're comfortable saying this to Twitter, there's got to be a kind of comfort with it in general - I'm just not sure other places are like that. (Certainly there's an ugly racist side to the Devils fanbase that I won't pretend doesn't exist)
squishyx
This might have happen in other cities, but it did happen in Boston and it's just disgusting. I've always said that we needed one more generation of people to die off to end this inner hatred, but maybe its another two or three. oofrostonoo
Looks like mostly idiotic 16 year old dudes making the comments.
Risky
It's sort of like reading this forum -- the world is filled with idiots. Don't let a few tards with an internet connection ruin your opinion of it.
justdo3043
obviously its just stupid to be racist....the real question did that goal make his contract the right move

Pepperkorn
I've posted it before - Boston is a racist place. I don't know, but just doesn't feel as diverse as most other cities, yet it's diverse enough that white guilt doesn't prevail as it does in southern cities. devlman
NEWS FLASH: Idiots make ridiculous comments online! This is a non-story Edit: Stop giving people like this attention. And for those who think this is just Boston, get real. Go on NJ.com and read the comments for any article. Stupid people like to voice stupid on the interwebs. NJDevs4978
It wasn't Bruins fans throwing bananas at Wayne Simmonds in the preseason either. I don't know about this happening in thirty cities, but it's definitely much higher than one.
