Torres is not good enough offensively to play on the top two lines, he's not going to play LW on the third line so essentially you're trading your top offensive defenseman for a fourth-liner when we already have fourth-liners up the wazoo. Nice. I disagree. Torres got 27 goals last year and 20+ the year before playing third line minutes with third line linemates. I think he is definitely good enough to play on the second line. But the Devils top 6 is already set, and as you said, there is no place for him on the third line (unless you knock Brylin down the fourth - Torres can play RW, which wouldn't be wise considering his strong play of late). I remember it being rumored that Lou was eyeing Torres if we were forced to deal Gomez b/c of the cap. But still this deal doesn't make any sense.
