GR
While Bryan Trottier sat out a suspension, assistants Terry O'Reilly and Jim Schoenfeld directed a 5-4 win Nov. 11 in San Jose and a 2-1 win Nov. 14 against Calgary. Back to back wins, WOW. Is there a message there for the Rangers? Are the Rangers considering a replacement for Trottier? They should IMO and not just based on just these two games but there is a message.
Chort
yea...........i agree, Trotts is not doing very well as a head coach...........good.........the Rangers can keep him.
'7'
well, they have to see how this team responds to Trotts when he comes back first, but I have not been overly impressed with him and the way he runs the rangers. If they want to win, go with Shoenfeld.
Derek21
This is about as dumb as some of the Ranger fans who don't have any patience with Trottier. The guy had more guts than any of our recent coaches when he made an example out of Lindros. He also benched Bure a couple of shifts in a game as well. I like the fact he's not afraid to send messages. And the role players work their asses off. I like what I see.
bg.
Ranger fans (and pretty much fans of any team) all bitch and moan about accountability. Trottier took the best player on the team and held him accountable. That sends a message to everyone that if he can get benched, so can you. Short, sweet, powerful. Although I supported Trotts before that, it wasn't until then I was positive he was the right guy. He's not afraid to take chances.
#10 Duguay
I would think the concern around here is that the Rangers are winning these days.....not worrying about who the coach is 4 wins in 5 games
Derek21
They always look at anything negative when it comes to our team. You know how it is . Better win tonight to make a point and get back to .500.
Blackjack
Wow, 4 out of 5 games, I'm really impressed. Maybe if you keep this up you can can finish as high as 9th or 10th in the conference! With the Isles playing poorly, 4th place in the division is up for grabs!
SBT
The Vancouver game should be an excellent test for the Rangers. The SBT fully expects Jovocop and company to destroy the Rangers.
Derek21
They won't destroy us tonight. I say 3-3 tie. One for Bure, Murray and Leetch. Naslund, Bertuzzi and Jovocop for them. Blackburn makes 32 saves.
NJayDevil
I think Cloutier will get a big win against his former team.
SBT
If the Rangers prove their mettle by winning in Vancouver tonight, the SBT will finally grant the Rangers some modicum of respect. Maybe.
Risky
No respect for j00!
SBT
Well, so much for the Vancouver test. Looks like the Rangers failed. Alas. Although the SBT admits that Blackburn did play very well.
GR
Trottier was back on the bench for Vancouver, I assume, how dumb was the message? Ranger lost 1-3. I really care less if they ever win a game, but all the spending and new coach and still be the doormat. When does it end, NEVER. Time for a coaching change. Larry Robinson is the man for the job right now. He could get these high paid guys to earn their pay.
NJayDevil
Larry would never take that job.
Derek21
GR, sometimes I really wonder about where your mind is. If you had actually watched that game, the Rangers showed a lot of heart in the 3rd. Vancouver held on for dear life. Blackburn was sensational. Our D is getting better all the time. The only thing keeping the Rangers from going on a hot streak is our top scorers' slump. Once they get hot, I expect them to go on a run. I hope it happens this week. That would make you look foolish.
