Ten Years Later....

Well nearly...

This probably doesn't deserve its own thread as its about me personally but screw it.

Late in 2005 i joined this board after lurking for a good while, Having followed the Devils since I was 13 years old (give or take). In all that time i have never seen the team i love play in person. I have seen 4 other NHL teams (all in England and Europe) but never the Devils.

Well tonight I have finally (after threatening to for many years) booked a ticket to stay in New York for 1 week this February.

The Devils have home games against the Sabre's and Vancouver.

Basically I am coming to the ROCK!!!!! And i thought i would share that on this site which has kept me so close to the team and the fans for such a long time.

Anyway self indulgent personal thread over.

(p.s. i am fully aware that i have picked one of the worst years in recent history to pay a visit, but hey that's the way things go)

If this doesn't deserve it's own thread, what does?

Jeez, how much for the airline ticket, lol?

I've been wanting to jump on a plane and go see Arsenal play at Highbury (Emirates) for years now.  It's just that I have no prayer for the spontaneity of it, can't just leave the rest of the Leeds' home while I gallivant around.

Welcome and enjoy.

Thanks Leeds.

The prices have come down a lot in the last few years with expedia, the accommodation is now more of a problem, plus i now have a proper job LOL.

I went to the Emirates last season, and it is safe to say that it is the nicest football stadium I have ever been too.  The seats are huge and extremely comfortable. And all the site lines  are fantastic.

You should go cheap one game and sit in the uppers and one game in the fire and ice lounge

Whats the fire and ice lounge like? Is the food in there worth price of the ticket?

Awesome CD, have a great time! Too bad that when you finally have a chance to come over you'll be seeing the worst Devils team of the last 20 years, but try not to let that fvck with a good time too much.

Thanks MD, yeah I had intentionsof coming over to see Marty before he retired and also Stevens, never made either. Hoping Patty is fit and playing as those are my trio of all time Devils.

Lost for words!

Will 100% be paying this forward.

See you all at the Rock.

My girlfriend got me a Customised jersey with my name and lucky number (some consider this a jersey foul, not me), so look out for a guy with a Hewitt 11 jersey on.

Tickets can be had either through the board here, stubhub.com or ticket exchange. Personally, I feel the fire& ice lounges are overpriced, but if you can find tickets on the secondary market for ~$125 it's not bad and that's possible if you don't care who they're playing.

Other than that there isn't a bad seat in the house, but most will say center ice is the best vantage point for seeing the whole game. Closest to how you'd see it on tv.

Thanks guys.

Any suggestions on the best place to sit? Where yo buy tickets from?

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Relatively inexpensive tix 133 or 134 (corners) i paid $60 (face value $70) vs habs friday. We were down rows 3 & 4 i had a group of 13 folks.  In corners you see whole ice.

Just a bump to get some more helpful advice since my visit to the Rock is now one week away:

What time would people recommend to get to the arena before the game? Is it possible to look around inside before?

Any idea how much a train ticket from Penn stations to the rock is? How long does it take?

What time do the trains stop running back to NYC?
