  1. PK, it makes me very happy to see you are still posting in this thread. I had the urge to check out NJ Devs when the Sens played the Devils the other day, wondering if PK was still on the Scott Stevens bandwagon (that is not the right phase but brain not working). I am pleased to see that you are
  2. Well it is good to see some folks are still around.
  3. That is pretty sad, considering how long this board has been together. But I guess fighting negative nancies just gets old after a while. I have to admit, I haven't kept myself up to date on the Devils' trials, the Sens have kept me busy on that front well enough. I have just missed the community that used to exist here, which I guess just doesn't anymore.
  4. Hi folks. Long time no post....or log in to forum. Working for a living sucks, gets in the way of watching hockey and generally enjoying life. Big thank you to DM for sorting out my sign-in issues. So how's life?

  6. Well howdy doody folks! Seems an age since I last said hi. And hello fellow weather geek, Zubie#8. Thunderstorms are frickin awesome indeed. Weird thing, since moving to Australian, seen way more hail in 3 years than I did in my 7 years in Albany! Including golf to tennis ball size stuff thst beat the coral out of my car while I was eating Christmas dinner. The car is now also a fully fledged weather geek. So I have to correct you on one point there. Anticyclonic tornadoes (ones that spin clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere) are rare, but not impossible. In fact an F4 anticyclonic tornadotore through Sunnyvale-Los Altos, CA in 1998. And anticyclonic storms (mesoscale convective systems) do form as the right hand book-end vortices on bow echoes, although they usually don't develop to the extent the left hand cyclonic one will, ie. the one often associated with non-showered tornadoes. But I am no tornado chasing meteorologist, so check my facts! And god damn this was challenging to do on my phone.
  7. Hostelling International - NYC and you can get a bed for $38/night. Gets rave reviews on trip advisor.
  8. Have you considered going the hostel route?
  9. So I decided to go the uninstall Firefox and reinstall route. Seems to be ok for the mo. Thanks for your assistance though folks.
  10. Hmmm, I also do not seem to be able to create a log file from HiJack This. Once I have done the scan I can save the log file, a dialogue opens asking where to save it. When it tries to open the log file it notepad, I get an error saying it cannot find the log file and do I want to create a new one. If I click yes or no, I just get a blank Notepad.
  11. I ran a Malwarebytes' Anti-malware FULL scan and everything came up clean.
  12. Thanks guys I will try your suggestions. OK when I run HiJack This is says it does not have write access to the hosts file and (I am running Vista) says I should select run as administrator. When I right click on the Hijack this Icon and try to run as administrator, this option is greyed out, yet this is MY computer and I am the administrator. Does Hijack This need access to the hosts file?
  13. OK I think I need some help with my computer. For a while when I got to google search, sometimes (not always) when I click the link to a result I get redirected to the google homepage. I did a little searching about it and I may have some spyware or something (not sure the proper term). I have run a Spybot Search and destroy and cleaned that up. Now I can do a HiJack This log but have no idea what to do with the log once I have it. Can anyone here help me?
  14. Happy B'day Rowdy! Obviously I may be a little early with that, not 100% sure....Facebook and NJDevs are both on Aussie time.
  15. I will attempt to remember to update this thread when I have some free time at the weekend.
