neeks123 Posted March 10, 2006 Share Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) Hey guys, I think on FSN I heard Stan Fischler and Loughlin talking about Stevens possibly coming off retirement for a short time to help the Devils through the Playoffs. Now Stevens hasn't said anything about it but do you think it's possible. He's helped us to that shiny Cup 3 times now, can the team's best ever captain and defenseman come back and get us there again? I wouldn't mind seeing Scotty as a coach (though that won't happen until next season at the very earliest), but there's no way he'll play again. That bridge was crossed a long time ago. You guys need to calm down no one is telling you how to do your job, they're merely stating their opinion. Back on topic, are you sure Fischler wasn't doing this out of jest. There is no I repeat ZERO chance of Stevens coming back. Not only is his number officially retired (I'm amazed that didn't finally end this) but why would he come back when we have 8 NHL defensem. If Raffy, Martin, and White suddenly got injured then maybe I could see where you are basing it but right now it would seem preposterous even if February 3rd had never happened.
