puckrock
This was one of the most unique seasons in Devils history that I can remember. The team was written signed off in late 2005, only to post 9 & 15-game winning streaks in 2006, another Atlantic Division Crown, and an oh-so-sweet sweep of the Rangers. The moment(s) that will always be with me after this season was a game in Pittsburgh on April 2nd, 2006. Myself, my girlfriend, and my 2 best friends decided to make the trip to Pittsburgh to see the game just for the hell of it. Fast forward: Devils tie the game with 19 seconds to go, only to win it in Overtime on a Gionta slapshot. Unbelievable. I can't wait for next season. Let's Go Devils!! --Also gotta mention the game vs NYR on 12/20, the Mogilny game winner!! Love it!!-- Edited May 15, 2006 by jbech
Devilsdude530
Parise's shootout goal against the Isles on 1/21. Nearly a full house, and the place was jumpin. Until we all got kicked out so they could turn the place into a basketball court.
puckrock
Hell yeah! The place went INSANE!! That was on my birthday, too!!
LizDevil30
The last game of the season is my favorite. A comeback game to crush division title hopes of the rags and failures. LETS GO DEVILS!
RolandNJD
The comeback against Montreal was sick. Elias' goal to tie... and then Langs goal to take the lead had me beside myself... and normally I jump up and down (or at least yell).
devils26
I agree that the game against Montreal was probably my best moment of the season. I think this is because it sort of summed up our whole season. We started off behind, and many people gave up, only for us to come back and win the Atlantic Division Crown. Memories like this will really make me anxious for next season. LizDevil30
Just think last time we lost a playoff round to the Hurricanes, the next season we won the Cup. I am so pumped for next year! LETS GO DEVILS!
gordienumber9
the pittsburgh game was definitely the highlight of my season as a devil fan, (cause i'm not gonna really go there about my favorite ranger moment) but since my boyfriend already claimed that one, i'll go with another one...steven's night, vs. carolina shut out...which was especially special (illiteration...tehe) because it was doug weight's first game as a cane. other favorite seasons moments of mine would be meeting half the team after elias's first game back, meeting brodeur and maclean, chatting with doc after an islander game and having him mock my brian leetch tattoo and of corse accidentally holding sergei brylin's hand
pattyelias
Parise's shootout goal against the Isles on 1/21. Nearly a full house, and the place was jumpin. Until we all got kicked out so they could turn the place into a basketball court. That was the a fun game even though they blew a 2-0 lead. It was the first game I took my girlfriend too. Anyways, my favorite moment of the season absolutely has to be Langenbrunner's goal the last game of the season against Montreal to win the division. That was a classic. pattyelias
come on somebody has to mention thornton's final moment as a bruin That was a the biggest play of the year for the Sharks. shouldn't the thread title be 05-06? I already know my favorite moment of 2006-2007. Seeing the Devils play their last home game ever in the Swamp. One more year till Newark! devilsfan26
I don't want to repeat what's already been said, so I'll just list a few other things worthy of being mentioned... The season opener, it was great to have NHL hockey back. Plus Parise scored his first goal in that game, and we shut Crosb!tch down. Malakhov retiring Elias returning to the team and turning the season around The rise of Cam Janssen, who has undoubtedly brought a ton of energy to the team, and is entertaining to watch. Obviously Daneyko and Stevens nights Hating on McGillis/Malakhov/Klee which has united the Devils fan community
devils102
Opening night of the season and ruining Crosby's debut, Elias's return and his first goal against the Habs, beating the Flyers three times in a row near the end of the season, and of course the last game of the year and Montreal was pretty sweet too. Strangely enough I really enjoyed game four of this series too, that was about as well as this team played all year. More than any particular moment, it was a lot of fun seeing guys like Gomez and Gionta really come into there own this year too.
squishyx
Gio's flying goal
4Stevens4
My top 3 would be Stevens Night (not becasue of the game but because of the pure emotion displayed that night), the final game of the season in Montreal and opening night against the Penguins (after a year off it was great to finally see the Devils back in action)
hattrick
My favorite was Scott Stevens retirement party, because I took my son to it. It was awesome to be at the Devils first retirement ceremony.
Devilish34
#1 Stevens Night #2 Last game against Habs( Phailure fans ) #3 Game 1 against the Rags (bc I was able to make the trip for that one) #4 Seeing Scott Gomez start playing both ends of the ice. #5 last but not least Danos night. M.
Let's see, Stevens & Dano nights. Final game of the season. Tommy coming back (again). Getting the rags playoff monkey off our backs in a definative manner. Everythings good, well almost everything.
CRASHER
I'll give an odd one, but why not.... tot totally losing my mind going into a total curse filled tirade that would last an entire weekend during the first Devils-Flyers game this year when the idiots in Toronto assumed that the puck was under Matvichuk instead of finding the puck and awarding it as a goal.... was the first game I was ever watching at GF's house, and before the lockout I'd have gone totally psycho about this Was a bit of a sign that I had found reality during the lockout! Other then that I'd say my road trip to Ottawa (I still wanted that damn free pizza )... and Daneyko night too!
RolandNJD
come on somebody has to mention thornton's final moment as a bruin I like to think Madden's face-off win, which ended in a goal was the ONLY reason Thornton got traded.
puckrock
shouldn't the thread title be 05-06? Yeah I realized that shortly after I posted.. I had a rough night at work Thanks to whoever corrected it in the forum!
