2ELIAS6
I doubt it as well. The people sitting in front of me were complaining about it. I was in 117 though, so right near the 122 section. It was unbelievably annoying to hear the vuvuzela all night, especially when we went on the PK a couple times in a row. Ughhhh, just SHUT THE fvck UP WITH THE VUVUZELA ALREADY. It was just one guy too. Doesn't he get bored of that sh!t? yea its extremely annoying to be honest it makes me almost not even want to attend games some times having to hear the sh!t that comes out of 122... im pretty much past the point of even sitting on the balcony end due to them and i can imagine a lot of others feel the same way as well. TheMazz
Anyone using one of those horns should be escorted out. Yes. Let's kick out people making noise and being loud at a sporting event. Seems legit. Look, I get that people find the horns repeative but the responses on here make me LOL. Pretty soon we'll have no cheering/noisemaking at all except for a few minor claps after goals and repeating whatever the jumbo-tron tells us to. I really enjoy that chant. I also thinks that's the only time the vuvuzelas should be used.
Onddeck
If any chant should go it absolutely has to be the suck/swallow one. I haven't heard that innuendo since like the 6th grade. It's not creative or original and is not funny. I'm not insulted by it by any means, except for the fact its just flat out unoriginal. Seriously, people used the suck/swallow jokes when I was in middle school

Seriously, people used the suck/swallow jokes when I was in middle school I agree. But how do they do it? They have to discourage people from doing the Lets Go Band whistle. They obviously can't kick out everybody who par takes in the chant, but they sure as hell can pinpoint the chant starter since someone has to do the whistle. If it was just Rangers suck, I wouldn't care. But the Flyers swallow part is going too far.

Muevelos
Problem with the horns its over blown and used every minute it seems where its pointless and beocmrs more of an annoyance then. At the right times it fines. Not every minute. Specially when people get aggravated with it through a tv.
Vic Rattlehead18
I like when they're used during the PK. And honestly it's the only time I ever notice it too. I also like when the guy would occasionally do that whistle with it (dundundundun dun..dun dun) after we clear the puck during the PK. eldon
When I'm at the game, I don't even notice the vuvu's until the 'kill' chant starts, and that chant I like and think we should keep. And I agree, 'suck/swallow' is embarassing.

Many times I've actually passed up cheaper seats at the rock in favor of more expensive ones just to sit a far away possible from the diablos. dmann422
Hate the vuvus on TV, BUT... We do have the best pk at home in the league so being the superstitious fan that I am I say keep them going on the pk. Once the inevitable fall back to earth of the pk happens, break the horns in half cuz they're annoying as hell.

"Finding vuvuzelas annoying" does not equal "everyone be quiet except for some claps after goals and jumbo-tron-led cheers". Some people hate this one particular thing. I don't hear anyone calling for the building to be near-silent.

Devilsfan118
First the goal song, then the vuvuzelas, WHERE DOES IT STOP? MADNESS I TELL YA Mountains out of molehills people. I don't even notice the vuvuzelas on TV, but I haven't been to too many games this year yet so I'm probably not qualified to comment on their use during the games I suppose. But if you don't like them..complain to someone. They clearly will listen and ban them if enough people bitch about their use. The 29th Pick
I'm sorry to say, most people find the Diablos annoying Having a vocal group in the arena is fine and all, if they wanna boo a bad call, or cheer a great save etc, thats fine, but the constant 3 hours of none stop vuvuzela is annoying banning the zula's will piss off those fans in that section, if they could just use them at certain times that would be a good compromise....I just don't see much compromise with our fans these days

I actually heard the vuvuzelas pretty well on TV on Saturday, especially on the PK. It is pretty loud this year and sometimes there are 2 people blaring them at the same time. The people in that section are something else. I really thought based off of seeing last year at games maybe 15-20 of them at most showing up to each game that the section was naturally dying out. Now since the Devils offered $100 season tickets and then put rules in where they have to stand and have to attend all games then suddenly they are loud again. That section this year is clearly the Devils doing to add "atmosphere" by blowing our eardrums out with those stupid horns and lame chants. Oh and please again for the love of god tell them as well as guy in sec 120/121ish to stop doing the Baumann chant every period. Once a game is enough and doing it more is taking away the specialness of a good thing. Vic Rattlehead18
Noise makers of any kind (like the vuvuzelas) are banned from being in the lounge seats (sections 7,8,9,18,19,20) from people complaining. But they're big spenders, so of course the arena caters to them.
sundstrom
DeBoer was ready to give Schneider an extended stretch of starts previously. That run Marty went on was fun while it lasted, but the gap between the two goalies' numbers is heading towards where we all expected it to be. If DeBoer keeps going back to Brodeur and Brodeur's numbers (particularly save%) continue to fall, then DeBoer is just being almost spitefully stubborn. Marty is going to have to be great and give DeBoer legitimate reasons to give him starts that should be going to Schneider. Marty's getting the start in Montreal, but I hope, no matter what Marty does (good or bad), that Schneider gets the three after that. He deserves it...he's flat-out been the better goalie overall. with the back to backs literally every friday saturday this month, i expect them to split all of them barring injury. tough to bet on these things, but i'd guess: away mtl: marty home mtl: cory home det: marty away nyr: cory away clb cory away pit: marty home tb: cory home ott: cory home ducks: marty away caps: cory away hawks: cory home clb: marty away isles: cory home pit: marty that's 8-6 cory

If you sat in the sections next to the Diablos and had to hear the constant ear piercing drone of that stupid horn all game long, you'd probably think differently. I don't mind the Diablos and their "corporate" chants that have been forced down their throats by the team ("go red go" - really?). Truthfully, they need to take some lessons from the Red Bulls supporter groups. But the vuvuzela has to go.
PWW
Meh, the vuvuzela doesn't bother me at all. Can't say as to how it sounds on TV since I'm at all the games I can make, but from where I sit in 117 it really isn't that bad. Then again, I'm usually yelling kill right along with the Diablos. The only time I ever find myself getting a bit annoyed by it is when we can't clear the zone and it goes on for almost a full 2 minutes straight, but those situations are few and far between. Vic Rattlehead18
I wonder how the players feel about it. Someone ask them next time after a game!
DJ Eco
The vuvuzela is fine during the PK, as I love the "Kill!" chant... However, whoever uses it at any other point really needs to stop. I'm in Section 119, and when someone in our section or a section over would start a nice loud "Let's Go Devils!" chant, Section 122 would chime in, which is fine and all, but the vuvuzela would come in late/off-tempo and it ruined at least 2-3 "Let's Go Devils!" chants because it threw everyone off. They really need to stop with the vuvuzelas, they're getting more and more out of control as each game goes on, it's like that person's nervous tic now. It wouldn't be so bad if our eardrums weren't assaulted from the moment we get in the door. The arena is so damn loud that you can't have a conversation at any time, even during intermission. The fact that these guys get cheapo tix, then also get to annoy the sh!t out of anyone remotely close to their section is stupid. And yeah, doing the Baumann chant every period really kills it. No one wants to join in when the chant it done so often, it's LAME. The one time it was done at the other end of the ice Saturday night, the chant was 50X louder than any of the attempts by the diablos.
