Elias26
Thought he would go for a lot more for a lot longer. He may be trying to increase his value for next year.
devils26
Good for him. He's been a soldier for the Devils and I wish him nothing but the best. With that said, I'm happy that the Devils were not the team to give him 2.75mil.

Neutral Zone Trap
good luck johnny on the odds-on stanley cup favorites. we'll miss you. Not only is that "epic fail" that is catastropic fatal error fail JMO Tri, but the Hawks are no closer to winning the cup than they were last year, they lost Bulin too. Triumph
Not only is that "epic fail" that is catastropic fatal error fail JMO Tri, but the Hawks are no closer to winning the cup than they were last year, they lost Bulin too. they signed hossa, kopecky, and madden, and their young team is a year older. losing bulin is not important. the hawks are now the best team in the central division. SatansDevils
all the best to Madden. He was one of my favorites on the Devils and now he is gone... For $2.75M Lou could have resigned him. Devils...New team...new faces...new players. UGH...
Kulags
Thanks Mad Dog. You were one of the most badass players in Devils history. Right up there with Stevens and Daneyko. Best of luck with the Hawks.

DevilNurn
THAT'S a hefty contract. Definitely understand why he'd take it. And glad to see he's parting for some cash, I'm glad the Devils let him go, but I like to see him doing well.
DevilMinder
all the best to Madden. He was one of my favorites on the Devils and now he is gone... For $2.75M Lou could have resigned him. Devils...New team...new faces...new players. UGH... Madden isn't worth 2.75 Million, we already have one over paid loyal 4th liner.
Satans Hockey
thank you but at the same time, thank god! It's going to be refreshing not having to see gio, madden and rupp in the lineup
Toaster13
Best of luck out in Chicago, Madden. I will miss you and it feels weird that you won't be a Devil in the upcoming season.

slasher72
thank you but at the same time, thank god! It's going to be refreshing not having to see gio, madden and rupp in the lineup if only we could add White, Pandolfo, Mottau, and Zubrus to that list... sdixon14
reminds me of when Arnott and Mckay left....Madden and Gionta 7-1-2009 Edited July 2, 2009 by sdixon14
msweet
Thanks for all the heart you gave us. A great Devil. As I said before, Lou is remaking this team.
95Crash
As much as I know it had to be, I'm sad to see Maddog go. I'll have nothing but good memories of his days as a Devil, starting with that 2006 playoff series versus the Rangers and that goal that almost brought the house down. I don't think the CAA was ever louder. Edited July 2, 2009 by 95Crash
metallidevils
I'm sad to see him go too. If Lemaire is coaching the team next year and we're back to defense-first, I would've taken Madden at that price.
RolandNJD
Madden will be greatly missed. A favorite for sure.
