meh, lou is just trying for another "Larry kicks the trashcan" moment. Too little, too late. When 4 of your 6 defensemen are immobile oafs who can't make an outlet pass to save their lives and are utterly useless against the speedy aggressive forwards of Philly(and Carolina last year) you're pretty much toast...which is also pretty much useless now that we don't have any jelly.

no, I think he's legitimately lost his mind. we're toast either way. I think this was the "why did I hire this idiot and why did I let the idiot hire his flunky stooge" moment of realization that he fvcked up huge. it's also hilarious.

The kicker is he gave up Oduya, Bergfors, and a first-round pick for nothing, as Kovy is likely gone after the series. So, we'll still be stuck with our putrid defense, featuring the clueless Mottau giving up pucks in his own end and Colin White skating around like a 200 pound snail.

and you wonder why he went nuts. it's too late though. and they'll still play the same way tomorrow. better because they're at home, but I'd be shocked if the team started playing "correctly" for the roster they have.

Lou fvcking rules. I was waiting for someone to fvcking snap. God knows I tipped a chair over last night myself.

I really, really wanted it to be Stevens. In my imagination, he just fvcking snaps into Captain Scotty again, maybe puts Langenbrunner in a headlock, DDTs Special Nieds, and gives Dorn Rolston a powerbomb. Oh, and then he pulls out a steel chair, hits himself over the head, and pildrives Rolston through two stacked tables.

And for my part, my remote flew across my living room, hit the wall, and some how bounced back and landed at my feet.

The fact that it was at the coaches makes me think I don't need another, "Lou is delusional" thread.

The lines are wrong (after a year of juggling), the d-pairs are wrong, the pp strategy is wrong and JL doesn't seem to have any offensive imagination or plan.

Having no 3rd or 4th lines is on Lou.

Weren't you the board's biggest Lemaire supporter? Wasn't Lemaire the answer for the Devils? When did you cross over?

I know a GM who thinks of ghosts

He'll make you breakfast, he'll make you toast

He don't use butter

He don't use cheese

He don't use jelly

Or any of these

He uses vaaaaaaaasoline...

Yeah I've been up way to long, I'm losing it.

I don't think you're ready for this jelly

I don't think you're ready for this jelly

I don't think you're ready for this jelly

My GM is Lou-alicious

Man, it's almost too easy...

Yes I was. I wrote articles on it.

I certainly thought he was.

In the beginning he was carefully crafting and manipulating the Devils with all of the injuries...he saw the game exactly as I saw it and he seemed to be a "genius" ...making the right moves, placing the right lines out there and working magic to have us 1st in the NHL with a 1/2 AHL team.

About halfway through the season, as the more talented players returned, me and him stopped seeing the Devils the same way. I held my tongue thinking a greater mind was at work. It has become obvious to me, JL is an expert at an under-talented team but has no clue how to coach elite players to a championship in 2010.

In the press conference after the game 4 loss, he basically said he needed his "best players to make good plays and score"

He seemed clueless as to how that was going to happen or what strategy to employ to make that happen. He has tried desperately to make a power play with Kovy & Parise work, to no avail. Our Strategy is over simplistic (2 shooting forwards at the point and one shoots with a screen..allowing the other team to crowd the box preventing quality shots or rebounds) and the other teams simply out-coach us the rest of the way.

I was wrong about Lemaire for this team. He should coach Edmonton next year. He might get them to the playoffs.

I am in good company with my mis-calculation. Lou thought the same.

I think we're all with you..but again...Brent Sutter also did a hell of a job when the team was crippled and they never got going when healthy.

This is the best news I've heard since the Kovalchuk trade...really better since it means either this team comes back or there are major changes now, no more after season platitudes and dragging our feet.

That's the great thing about Lou going ape- either it wakes up the team and they come back (not likely), or there is a major shake-up and Lemaire and his dingbat sidekick are sh!tcanned (very likely). There's no downside to this.

Thanks for the kind words.

I see a difference between Sutter and JL (outside of one being an a-hole and the other being a nice guy)... Sutter just got a bit lucky with Clemmer and the team playing hard. I firmly believe Sutter is an idiot. And I said that all along last year. JL has more hockey sense, but just doesn't know what to do with a complicated offensive scheme.

Glad somebody gives a sh!t. I miss Stevens. While delusional and depressed last night, I was imagining him stepping onto the ice in pads and skates and Lou tearing down his retired number in the Rock and draping him in it as a uniform, then having Stevens skate out in the first pairing and laying out Carcillo or Hartnell. The sad thing is, I think that's more likely than anyone on our defense laying out Carcillo and Hartnell.

IMO, Anytime you can acquire a player with Kovalchuk's stats, you make the deal. No second-guessing.

Let's get a win tonight and see where it leads...
