mfitz804
Heck of a play. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?hdpid=49&id=875044 Whatcha think, goal or no goal? I think it's a goal. If you see where the puck is in his glove from the front angles, the overhead shows that part of the glove over the line. In any event, ruled no goal. Colorado Rockies 1976
Sure looked like a goal, but still a sweet stop.
mfitz804
Reminded me of a certain Canadian who used to guard our net.
Satans Hockey
That was a goal but the NHL lacks common sense. His glove is clearly over the line. Edited November 16, 2015 by Satans Hockey
Derek21
Not conclusive enough to say goal. An amazing athletic save by Allen. And I really enjoyed the call. Pang especially.

redruM
IMHO its a goal.. great save, but the Dano just needs to avoid the glove!!

mfitz804
he shot it right into the glove He looked like he thought there was no way Allen would get across and all he had to do was flip it in. Gotta go up high on that shot.
DJ Eco
Damn, that's definitely a goal, BUT if it was originally called no-goal, I can see the case being made that the video review is inconclusive. For that reason, I hope it doesn't win Save of the Year haha Should've counted as a goal...
CRASHER
I am VERY MUCH a strong supporter and card carrier in the goalie's union....but Jesus Christ almighty that was over the line CLEARLY.... *sigh* NHL.....this is as bad as what is a "catch" in the NFL this happened in a Devils-Flyers game once about ten years ago didn't it?? the puck was over the line, but it didn't count....this rings a bell...... thecoffeecake
It's a nice save, but I'm never overly impressed by saves like this. He stuck his glove out and Dano shot it right into it. You see goalies do this every day, except it usually finds its way in.
bostondevil11
2nd game back after the lost lockout season I think... Yes. I was just thinking about that the other day. I remember yelling very loudly at the tv.
CRASHER
That's what I remember about it too, something along the line, if the puck is in the glove (or was it blocker?) and that's over the damn line how can the puck NOT be over the damn line....it was quite a tirade
Chimaira_Devil_#9
If the puck is in the glove it's a goal. Also not that impressed with these sorts of saves. So many times you see the puck being shot straight into the glove. The glove has to be there I guess, but still.

You see goalies do this every day, except it usually finds its way in. You can say that about most spectacular saves, ever. Luck always plays a role, but when it's a pretty save it's a pretty save. Even Brodeur's "scorpion save", the shooter could've shot anywhere toward the net with a 95% success rate that he scores that goal, but Marty got lucky and it goes down as one of his greatest saves of all time. Same with most of his incredible stick-on-the-ice saves. To score, ideally the shooter elevates it, but in instances like these, it's all about reflexes and luck; gotta appreciate it for what it is! That scorpion save is so tainted because the Rags scored shortly after it and all the replays have that stupid song playing in the background. Devils Pride 26
Wasn't there a huge puck over the line but not a goal in a Rangers/Sabers playoff series in 2007? Maybe I dreamt that.I thought it was a regular season game involving Miller and Elias. Hmmm
jagknife
I thought it was a regular season game involving Miller and Elias. Hmmm That oversized pad wearing fvck has done it multiple times: glove save, glove clearly in the net, no goal. Gets anointed save of the year. NJDEVS1730
Wasn't there another situation in a Devils-Bruins game where Thomas had the puck under his glove but it was clearly in the goal. I think it was on a wraparound try.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing watching the replay yesterday haha... I always forget that we got scored on shortly after, ugh...
