maxpower
who doesn't love revisionist history: i am glad you're still here - occasionally. martin did not fulfill the hope i had for him - too bad. for someone who's got a lot of knowledge and gets much more right than he does not, this one was a toughie for you my friend. I thought McGillis would work as well. but that was without knowing what kind of games would be played. Vlad was a disaster waiting to happen, old, lethargic and unmotivated. but he still got an extra year. lol.
NJDevs4978
I know it's kind of sad, but for some reason I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw this on the FIRST PAGE of discussion. I thought he wasn't going there to win either (then again I didn't think Pronger would fall into their lap or Selanne would have a reinassance)...of course, in hindsight he was gone from here the minute he had to look at Rob in the handshake line just after the '03 Finals. gogonjdevil
he since we're living in the past now, can we revive a "devils win the cup thread?"
Devil Fan
Well, Nieds did bring the Cup to the Ducks, but he screwed the team twice because of his poor decision-making. Once he skipped the team after winning the cup and the team was scrambling when he returned mid-way through the 07-08 season and the second time his one-year extension forced the Ducks to trade Pronger and unable to re-sgin Beauchemin. Now, he's retired and the Ducks' big 3 were gone...does that sound familiar?
