NJDevs4978
Something to do with the pipes not being winterized, I believe. I mean they've done Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC, and you're going to tell me that they will bypass New York? No, I don't think they could move both the Jets and Giants out for 2 weeks - that would mean 16 combined home games in 15 weeks. It doesn't work. It could work, both teams have played home in the same week before (Thursday-Sunday or even Sunday-Monday night I think). MadDog2020
If the Winter Classic is ever held at Met Life (which, btw, is located in NJ) with the Rangers as the host, I will lose my fvcking mind... I mean, I would be apoplectic. And yeah Detroit and Chicago, what a joke. The league finally does the right thing by giving Minnesota and Colorado outdoor games, only to of course bend over for NBC with who the opponents are. What a fvcking farce. Won't happen anytime soon. It's just next to impossible that Met Life would ever be free for a week and a half (the minimum amount of time it takes to setup and take down) at the end of December, barring an NFL lockout. Other football stadiums are already a stretch, but Met Life, being the home of TWO NFL teams, don't think it'll ever happen. Worst case less than a million lower than 73M project Was actually kinda hoping the cap would come in lower to force some trades so maybe Lou could take advantage of a team up against the cap. This helps all those teams.

sundstrom
Eric Gelinas for Richards if they eat 2 million of his salary. that he is on waivers means nobody wanted to trade anything for him. the last thing the devils want is mike richards. Triumph
Clowe for Richards is the only trade I would entertain. And I don't think the Devils would do that to Clowe.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Yet another example why these mega-deal contracts are so dangerous and short-sighted. The best thing that came out of the last CBA was the cap on years...these idiot owners and GMs would still be handing out 10+ year contracts otherwise. They can never help themselves. vadvlfan
that he is on waivers means nobody wanted to trade anything for him. the last thing the devils want is mike richards. hopefully, someone with a lot of cap space will claim him. I wouldn't want him even if they picked up 2 mil of his $$$. I think he lost his hunger for the game. Maybe a change in scenery will jack him up. Just not in NJ

Agree, I think LA would gladly take that, for cap reasons, but I also agree, don't think Lou'd do that to Clowe.

Jerzey
Do we really need another two way forward? At some point we have to address the scoring issue.
GoArmySports
"Devils' all-star representative Patrik Elias (two assists Sunday) did make it back from Columbus before the snowstorm began. He was scheduled to fly back to New Jersey this morning, but Islanders' all-stars John Tavares and Jaroslav Halak offered him a ride back Sunday night on the private jet they had chartered." From TG. '7'
Richards is close to being finished. He's not really all that old (turning 30 in a few weeks) but he's got a ton of miles on that body. He doesn't provide enough offensively for us to be interested anymore.

Clowe is still staying local in NJ which means he can go back to Newfoundland if he wants. In LA that wouldn't be possible.

What a fvcking farce. after seeing a bit of all star weekend I've realized the winter classic is turning the same way- it's not meant to highlight the greatness of the sport, it's now used as a gimmick to bring casual fans in for a few days.I'm done with the outdoor stuff for a good while, so I can't get upset that nbc/nhl are milking it for what it's worth while they can.
