For Saros you can make the argument but not for Markstrom (in regard to Mercer).

If Fitz trades him for a first + player, I want nothing to do with that first except for him to package it for a goalie.

It would cost a lot more than just Lazar. But if Ullmark can be acquired it’s definitely something to consider. Ohh Fitz, you really have created quite a mess for yourself…

Keep him. He is valuable as a bottom six. Regarding TT, I am not sure what really is the best move. On one hand he does like it here and wants to stay. On the other hand we could probably get a 1st round pick. The issue is that it would be a low 1st, which doesn't hold much value in this draft. I say sign him regardless of what happens over the next month. The key here of course is whether he would take an even slightly team friendly deal.

No. Replace Tanev with Hanifin and have Calgary retain $2m (they won’t retain 50%).

Unfortunately none of those factors matter given the horrible market that exists for goalies now. In a perfect world, fitz gives up holtz+mid prospect +1st and has Calgary retains $2m, but with how teams are desperate these days, Calgary has enough leverage that they can ask for way more EVEN with Markstrom being old and high risk for a significant regression..

Was anything told to you that they might revisit this with Calgary again (possibly in the offseason)?

I work in midtown and went to the NHL store to get the jersey. Got there 3 minutes after they opened and barely got a Meier jersey. The place was packed with mostly Devils fans and by 10:30 everything was gone…
