As a Long Islander whose never visited the "jersey shore" I didn't know that.

That's not really being fair. They put in a lot of thought/money trying to improve the fan experience and the Rock is only 7 years old

The Jersey Shore, for the most part, is located in Southern NJ. We can get into a geographical debate on if Seaside, Point Pleasant and the rest of those areas are considered "Northern or Southern" but I think anything past Mercer county is "South Jersey". Flyer territory especially.

I can speak to this...I was born in Montclair, went to school in Bloomfield and then moved down to Point Pleasant. I can tell you from living at the shore that people here do not consider this area "Southern NJ" everyone here HATES the Failyers ;)

I don't think this is true (at least in my experience). I see Ocean County and northern areas as central or north jersey, basically anything except for South Jersey. These counties root mostly for NY/NJ teams and while they have some Philly fans, they are in the minority. Basically the main SJ beaches are AC, OC-------->Cape May.  Point Pleasant, Asbury, LBI, Seaside, etc are not SJ

To be fair. The "Jersey Shore" thing fits the South Jersey/Philly area more then the NJD demographic.

I will fight to death over this.

For one, everyone talks about North and South Jersey, when really it's a battle of East and West. The closer you stay to the shoreline, the more urban/suburban the area is. Going west in both North and South Jersey really leads to the same open fields.

I-195 is the divider between North and South Jersey, with Ocean and Monmouth constituting as Central.

Proudly live in the executives living mansions territory. (Yes that TOTALLY fits me however!)

Dating someone from "Pretty Much Alabama" and seeing it over there ruined South Jersey for me. It really is North Philly. A "nice" mix of North Philly and Alabama. Ugh.

The more the YS people talk, the more I despise them because they make me embarrassed to root for the team I have followed for more than 25 years. A complete and utter bunch of a$$holes. You morons ruin everything.

Well this is just embarrassing.  Should've taken this sh!t to the facebook page, I'm sure they'd eat this up. Thankfully this forum isn't won't support garbage like this.

I'm what you could consider a "Pro YS" guy, to an extent - I had no problem with the chant and was bummed to see it go.

But for Christ sake, it happened over a year ago.  Let it go people..

Fixed

No one's begging you to check this forum bud

And, actually - read the thread.  It's pretty much unanimous against this shirt idea.

I'm indifferent to this debate but come on, embarrassed to root for your team cause people say you suck? Gimme a break. Who gives a sh!t what other people do and even more so who cares what other people think of our fan base. Edited by Satans Hockey

Chanting "You Suck" is a privilege, not a right. The fact that these "fans" are acting as if a right was stripped away is ridiculous.

Do you really care that much if that's how people feel? The outrage over a word on both ends is amazing. I'm in the camp that simply doesn't give a sh!t if the word is said or not. I don't know why people on both sides of this argument let it bother them so much

I agree, but I never said the word bothered me.  In fact, I've said numerous times I'm all for reminding the opposition that they suck.  But timing is everything.  Like I said, it's ridiculous either way to care that much.

But it's perfectly understandable as to why Weber, Harris, O'Neil, and Blitzer are trying to disassociate the organization from the chant.  It's something these "fans" don't seem to understand.

I'm embarrassed for a number of reasons, not really because they like to say "you suck".  As another poster mentioned, and quite sharply, the new ownership and management team is the reason the team is not bankrupt, has spent millions of dollars upgrading the arena, and is committed to keeping the team in NJ and building its own identity.  Yet these morons will make t-shirts that tell a member of that management team to get lost because of a chant that half of the fanbase didn't care for in the first place.   They've tried several times to have a goal song that everyone can get behind, including taking the effort to make an original one.  Yet their low IQ baboon brains can't resist the urge to say "you suck" when it doesn't work, especially when we're losing 3-0.  And not to mention that they boo after the Devils score a goal because they don't get tell the other team that it sucks at that particular moment.

Uh oh! You just called the pro-YS people names.

Watch as I learned that doing that is now allowed lol
