I can't believe that with only 5 goals scored, we escaped with 5 points in the last three games

but sweet W and I'll take it ..

Terrific performance by New Jersey tonight.

Derek, and othe Ranger fans who might be posting, by I'd like to suggest that until every Ranger is willing to bodycheck like every single Devil was willing to do tonight, they may not be able to go 7 rounds with New Jersey in a series, regardless of how much more scoring talent they may have. And the Devils will come close to evening the scoring talent in April with Elias.

I know, I'm way ahead of myself, but I think I may be on to something here. The Rangers lack of anyone willing to take the body (aside from maybe Rucinsky) tonight should be what every coach in the eastern conference tries to exploit for the rest of the season.

I just think we have a shot at them after seeing how they played tonight.

A shot? The Rangers have the kind of team that could easily bow out first round - a no-name defense and finesse scoring. They will rely on Lundqvist - if he's anything but great, they will have a hard time winning playoff games.

Oh, and we scored 6 in these 3 games.

But getting 5 points in 3 games outscoring teams 6-5 minus Elias has been sweet.

your calc is broken...

we scored 5 goals and allowed 4..

if you count shootouts ... we scored 6 and allowed 6...

That's 10 straight seasons for Marty with 30 wins. :boogie:

and two W's from 4th all time

Of the top 4 seeds right now, I don't fear any of them at the moment because none of them have come to New Jersey and beat the Devils.

1. Ottawa, 0-1 @ NJ

2. Buffalo, 0-1 @ NJ

3. NY Rangers, 1-2 @ NJ

4. Philadelphia, 0-2 @ NJ

Sorry about that. That's the NEW NHL Math for you.

But the Devs have to win on the road, and if I recall, the Devs record at these venues is not too good.

The Rangers have guys who have been through the playoff wars before. You'd figure Devils fans would know better than to doubt Jagr and Straka. And Sykora on top of that who was a playoff hero for the Devils.

Let it ride, let it ride, let it ride Marty.

MadDog, Langer and Pando have as well. And I believe they'll be the ones covering Jagr, Straka and Nylander if this series happens.

Seriously, NHL on NBC ratings'll be huge if Devs-Rags is a first rounder.

Devs/Rags is huge ratings for any round, especially in the 3rd round.
