  1. Yeah Tampa knew when to get out. Palat’s had moments here, but his best days are clearly behind him.
  2. ‘96 was rough because in addition to coming off a Cup win, all the Devils had to do was beat the Senators AT HOME and they were in. They even had a 2-1 lead in that game before losing 5-2. Given the expectations, this season is a rotten one, but at least this team has been dead for weeks. That ‘96 team led us on right through being up 2-1 in that final game. re: trading this year’s first-round pick, I’m obviously not opposed to it, but at the same time, Devils are absolutely going to need some cheap ELC players in the near future. Something to keep in mind.
  3. Also fair to point out that Toffoli was on pace for well over 30 goals here, which was the hope. If he was looking like he might only score 20 or so, yeah, then the Devils could be accused of bringing out his worst.
  4. Honestly I’m hard-pressed to think of a worse-coached team this year than the Devils. The players obviously played a role in this season going off the rails too, but good lord Lindy and Groan could fvck up with just about ANY roster right now. They do more harm than good.
  5. He didn’t start bad, but def appeared to hit the wall HARD. I still think he’ll be ok. I think Groan offers just as little as Lindy did. Maybe even less.
  6. Didn’t watch a single minute of this and I don’t regret it one bit. Just hope Fitz gets the hard reset right.
  7. I think Brylin sticks because he’s seen as more of an organizational guy than just some dude on the coaching staff. But yeah, soyonara to the rest. All of em.
  8. For me, it was more that after getting the big lead, that only Allen was able to prevent the Stars from getting back into the game. They were lucky that Dallas didn’t make it close.
  9. They didn’t really play that well against Dallas, if you think about it. They got caved in for the second half of that game…Allen made a ton of big saves.
  10. He’s averaged a point per game since starting the season pointless in his first four.
  11. Kinda hoping the new guy will have more than enough clout to have a significant say in who’s on his staff. Feels like Fitz handpicked most (if not all) of Ruff’s guys.
  12. Yeah Groan is just about as dopey as Lindy. I already said it but wouldn’t want him or Lindy anywhere near my staff, even as assistants.
