maxpower
show me where it says they paid the fine. i think lemaire is a better coach than john maclean and 99 percent of the coaches in the league. case and point the record of the devils this year and the wild last year when he left. it's not his fault players stopped listening to him because he juggled lines to get a sputtering offense going. the fact that you don't think lemaire couldn't fix this proves how little you know about the sport. i'm looking forward to people like you vanishing when the team implodes in january. when you get fined, you pay the fine, dolt. you sound like the person that's going to jump ship. I've been a STH for 14 years. you've been a fvcking jackass on here for a month. Lemaire is a fvcking dinosaur who hasn't accomplished anything in the NHL for 15 years, and has never accomplished anything as a coach without Larry Robinson being around. Satans Hockey
Offense can't finish. Defense can't defend. Goalie can't stop pucks when needed. Pretty easy enough equation to equal a big fail. I'm not even that upset, I didn't expect them to win and I'm still fuming too much from the Red Bulls loss. We gotta win a home game eventually right? right? Sickman
This season just may turn out to be a good wake up call to everyone who has taken the Devils' regular season success for granted. I understand that winning in the playoffs trumps all, but all you have read here for years now is how the regular season means sh!t, to hell with the division, etc. This isn't much fun is it? All this talk about first pick, well fvck that noise. Watching a team that has nothing to play for over 82 games just plain old sucks regardless of what reward may be at the end. I don't know what it is but SOMETHING has to get done here. The 20 game mark is big and they would still be under .500 even with a 5 game winning streak. You can't pin everything on the coaching but they really aren't doing themselves any favors. Why in the world are Tallinder and Greene on the same pairing? Am I just seeing things or is that not a flat out awful pairing? They're both so weak on the puck and yet you still put them together? Constant turnovers and getting pinned in the zone. They have been horrible together. The PP....No reason to even comment on it. It should just be taken out to pasture at this point. Wtf is the plan out there? I'm not saying that nothing good is happening. For the most part the Devils played very well last night. But there are always some head scratching things going on. What it comes down to is that the top players MUST produce. I like the drive and work ethic of the rookies, Vasyunov and Mills especially, but something has to give with the veterans. They're just not executing the way they need to. Can all of these struggles be due to the fact that we don't have a true #1 puck mover? I don't buy that. I feel it has more to do with a lack of smarts/ focus and not enough bearing down. So is it a problem that stems from the directions of the coaches or are the vets just not capable or unwilling to buy in? You can't ignore the injuries but the team should really be better then this. They're getting worse results then teams with far less talent. Sure, talent can only take you so far but something is just not right here. They're seriously running out of time to figure it out. You're not wrong here. Even I'm guilty of this mindset...granted I'm not foolish enough to think we were going to go on winning 50 a year indefinitely, I didn't think the dropoff would come this year but still, at least I got entertainment value every year with going to 27-28 home games and usually seeing around 20 wins during the regular season. pattyelias
On a positive note, I didn't get to see the game last night. That makes me feel a little better. Is it too early to change Kovalchuk's name to Yashinchuk?

That dumb son of a bitch better do some motherfvckin' soul searching over the next few days, becuase he's about as useful as a screen door on a fvcking submarine right now. He couldn't have played worse last night if he actually tried to.

We continue to anoint this guy and his $6M as an innocent saint because of history. Thinking like this will make us a franchise like the Islanders - that all they have is th ehistory to look at. Agreed. Elias, like pretty much all of the veterans, has been nothing but a passenger. Just because he actually showed some passion last night and smashed his stick over the net after the 3rd Ranger goal doesn't mean he deserves the C back. Although it was nice to see SOMEONE show some frustration outwardly for once.
