Is it simply a storage locker for society's refuse, or are we still clinging on to the idea of rehabilitation for some of these people? Manufacturing and service jobs are being cut so that prisoners now take your airline reservations and make your clothes. There are presently 80,000 inmates in the US employed in commercial activity, some earning as little as 21 cents an hour. The US government program Federal Prison Industries (FPI) currently employs 21,000 inmates, an increase of 14 percent in the last two years alone. Unfortunately, and typical for some liberals, they pick up a story like this and champion a cop killer. It's the usually Hollywood liberals, as well as simple minded people who are used by various anarchist groups to broadcast how this killer was "railroaded" by the racist justice system. I would post on Mumia's web page with simple questions about facts of the case and they would simply delete them. He should be executed NOW. NJ has proven they wil lnever use it even though people have actually been senteced to death. The cost of housing the inmates on death row for 20 years, which I beleove at least 2 inmates have been, plus the legal cost to fight all the appeals, would probably house 20 inmates in the regualr pop for 20 years.
