Neither Kovalchuk (right shoulder) nor Salvador (right wrist) will play in tomorrow night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center and it is not inconceivable that the team would consider shutting both down for the remainder of the season if they are mathmatically eliminated from playoff contention by the weekend. “I don’t know. I’m taking this day to day, literally,” coach Pete DeBoer said about the possibility of telling Kovalchuk he won’t play again this season. “I’m not looking beyond. He’s not ready for Philly. Let’s look at Florida (Saturday afternoon at Prudential Center).”

2 years ago our loss to MTL was the nail in the coffin for us and eliminated us for a playoffs race.

Just cause when it rains it pours... watch it... tuesday everything that could go wrong for us will and they will eliminate us once again and ill be stuck listening to those stupid fans making for of me again.

Per Ledger

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello says it is possible captain Bryce Salvador could be shut down for the remainder of the regular season.Devils GM Lou Lamoriello says it is possible captain Bryce Salvador could be shut down for the remainder of the regular season.

Lamoriello says Salvador will have his right wrist examined by a specialist but has not done so yet.

There are no plans yet to shut Ilya Kovalchuk down. "He's trying," Lamoriello said of Kovalchuk's attempt to come back from shoulder injury.

If they're trying to lose, putting Salvador back in is probably the right move

He should get Pronger type minutes then if they wanna stop winnin' for MacKinnon or are losin' for Drouin or sucking for Seth

I never understood your feelings toward Montreal fans until our last home game against them. They're unbearably annoying, holy jeez.

haha and im pretty sure that was nothing... count yourself lucky you don't have them on fb lol they are seriously the worst... who else would call the cops on a hockey player during a game and plugged the authority lines TO THE POINT that the city had to send a message to all citizen to stop calling about that cause it was clogging the lines in case of emergency... and then have multiple manifestations about a hockey play that turned baddly ? like seriously.... who else?

While Montreal fans are not usually physical, they are about as obnoxious as Rags fans and run their mouths to no end.  They are all a bunch of passive-agressive sh!theads.

I'm with you on this one.  I've never been to Montreal for a game but, I/M/O, the ones that travel here are some of the most disrespectful, obnoxious and rude fans I've ever met, which says a lot considering we often have Rags and Flyers fans in the building.  Their air of entitlement and superiority (no matter how unwarranted) is particularly annoying.  The only difference is, they aren't looking to start any physical confrontations in our building, which is nice.

A Devils fan friend of mine who lives in Montreal for the time being was sharing some of the ridiculousness he was seeing on his Facebook feed. One was like a humongous banner some Habs fan made commemorating Montreal's being in 1st place in the East (for like 4 days). Like, it must have taken days to make this thing, it had the logo and fire in the background, and a huge number 1 and date, it was embarrassing...

Exactly, this. I can handle the typical drunk Flyers fan with some sarcasm and wit, even the average annoying Rangers fan with wit and statistics, but I realized the weekend we played the Habs at home how ridiculous some of the Habs fans are when they're "on top". Otherwise, my experience with them in the past few years has always been positive, mainly because they weren't "on top"...
