I'm with ya. I'm sick of everyone around here acting like a fvcking analyst of the game instead of being a god damn fan. Especially these people saying wahhhh wahhh I don't feel like going to game 5 now cause there is a chance we might get knocked out of the playoffs. DO US A FAVOR AND DON'T fvckING GO THAN, GIVE YOUR TICKET TO SOMEONE WHO WILL BE LOUD AND CHEER OUR TEAM ON TO VICTORY. I'M SICK AND fvckING TIRED OF THE MAJORITY OF THIS BOARD BEING A WHINING BITCH.

ROOT FOR YOUR MOTHER fvckING TEAM PEOPLE.

ROOT WITH YOUR fvckING HEART AND STOP TRYING TO BE LIKE STAN FISCHLER

LETS GO DEVILS!!!

Amen. I'm Calling for all real fans to unite and to be louder than ever at game 5. I will reiterate what you said: If you don't want to go to game 5, give your ticket to a real fan who will cheer their heart out.

I understand your spirit and hopes guys and actually want to think the same way as you guys but damn it after a a copy paste of that kind of sh!t year after year how can i hope :noclue:

I know these past couple years have been beyond frustrating. But we all need to believe right now. Our guys will do it.

I'm going Thursday and I'm going to have a blast. If we win, it'll be great walking out that arena. If not, then I'll stand at the end of the day and clap.

Our Devils may not be playoff juggernauts these days, but as the only team in the NY area that can count on playing extra hockey in April year after year, I'm damn proud of them.

Thinking back. I have endured the heart aches of being called a Mickey Mouse Franchise; OT fun with Stephane Matteau; losing first round match ups despite being the number 1 seed; the threat of moving to Nashville; buildings filled with mostly Rangers' fans if filled at all; and our recent playoff woes, tonight included. I've also watched John MacLean send us to the playoffs and that first magical playoff run that ended in Boston that still makes me smile; a most improbable playoff run followed by a most improbable sweep of Detroit for Cup number 1; watched a young 18 year old skinny defenseman become a Stanley Cup Champ and a Norris Trophy winner; watched a team come back from down 3-1 to a hated rival and then woke up an entire neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning because of a blind backhand pass that Arnott buried for Cup number 2; spilled beer over myself when some guy named Friesen nailed a 5-hole to win a game none of us thought they would, then watched our own Marty toss 3 shutouts to win Cup number 3. It's been a helluva run.

Good times. Bad times. I love this team and always will. Thank you Devils. Perhaps not this year. Perhaps not next. But I'll be there when that time does come.

Nope, not smoking. I just really believe in our team.

I applaud your dedication, and I'm not trying to sound negative, but after Marty let in that soft goal(the third one) tonite after countless awesome saves, I got that sinking feeling this team doesn't have what it takes. This does not look like 2000, There is no Scott Stevens or Larry Robinson behind the bench on this team, unfortunately.

The lack of leadership is glaring. And JL is being outcoached plain and simple.

Don't get me wrong I'm as die hard as you and I believe it's possible. I'm just getting SO discusted watching us being outmanuvered(spelling) by a team that reached the playoffs by the skin of thier balls. :saddevil:

I agree - you should never give up on your team. I think everyone is hoping for the best Thursday.

If they won't play hard for each other then they should at least show up for the fans. On paper we have a great team - but in the NHL they still need to prove it every day.

The Flyers are a good team. I believe they were the 7th seed because of all the penalties they took. But we have the coach in JL and the players to beat them.

It's just so hard to imagine this team coming back after tonight. After everybody on the team said how they were going to play desperate and put it all on the line - and all we got was the same gutless crap. Decent first period followed by nothing at all. Can't get shots on net. Can't generate any offense. I just don't see how a team like that can come back against a team like the Flyers unless half their team gets the flu and dies before game 5.

If we win game 5, super, awesome. But I don't think it's likely and even if it happens, we can't win in their building so we're still done. I was optimistic all season long but I'm tired of it. Tonight was their night to do something and get right back in this series and they got outplayed at every turn.

This, plus don't forget the team in 2000 was in the conference finals, not the first round. Teams have to do a bit of character/confidence building on the way to the conference finals. I knew that team was better then they showed during that 3 game slide to the flyers in 2000. I'm not sure with this one. This team has proven anything that they are inconsistent and they don't play well from behind.

All I know is that in 2000 everyone said the Devils were done, everyone. And they weren't.

I hate to be a debbie downer but this optimistic attitude is only gonna harden the fall come Thursday or Sunday. I think the best that we can hope for is that they muster up enough fight to avoid getting bounced on home ice for a 4TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR and just get put down on Sunday in PA.

Let us take a look at the videotape:

-New Jersey now stands at 2-8 vs Philly this season with an 0-5 road record to boot.

-New Jersey will now have to win 3 in a row against this very same team. This may prove difficult as it is something they have failed to do since December of 2009.

-One of these games will have to be won on the road. How did games 3 + 4 turn out for us again? Btw, the Devils have now lost 16 out of their last 21 away from the Rock.

The Devils look slow, sloppy and stupid. Philly is playing with more urgency and they are playing well. Regardless of what names are on this roster, Philly is the better team at the moment as much as it pains me to say it. The Flyers have made this series a total nightmare for the Devils and they just look like the hungrier team.

The fan in me will never allow myself to completely lose faith in our boys but there is nothing there to say that they have what it takes to come back in this series. It gets to a point where bad bounces and breaks are pretty irrelevant. The Flyers are simply outclassing the Devils up and down the ice right now. I truly believed that they would find that gear once the playoffs started but they just don't have it. You have a few guys giving their all (Zubrus, you're the fvcking man, I don't care what anyone says) but there are just way too many passengers.

Stranger things have happened but we basically need a miracle. I'd love to see it happen but I don't think it would be wise to hold out too much hope. All I ask is that they at least go down kicking and screaming after watching these last 2 games.

Tonight made me angry, but there is always Thursday. I am not expecting something like 2000 to happen again, but hey, if we win Thursday, at least we make the Flyers sweat a little. You then go and win Game 6 and guess who is having the melt down then!?!?

Out of all the negative things I've read on these boards in the past week, including some of my frustration, this post sums it all up. We've been through good and bad times and I will be there until the end. Win or lose tomorrow night, I'll still rock my red and support my Devils.

Well I figured this would be a good thread to share this:

I bought tickets for tommorow's game and I suggest you all do the same thing. They need our help more now than ever.

I don't really know why I am doing this to myself, but the devils have never won a playoff game in the rock without me in the building and like I said, they really need us. I am going to game 5 tommorow, and game 7 if necessary.

I guess I'll be seeing a handshake line tommorow tuesday!!!! If it goes to 7, I guarantee victory.

I realize that we haven't won 3 in a row since the ice age, but think positive... we are DUE for a 3 wins in a row.

LETS GO DEVILS!!!!!!11ONE!!!!!!!1

By the way I anticipate a LOT of flyer fans being there tomorrow. I hope I am wrong.

People said that about Flyers fans before Game 1 and Game 2 as well, they just have not come to NJ since we moved to the Rock (and they used to come in droves to the CAA), maybe Newark's too scary for them lol.
