95Crash
The NHL and NBC salute roots of the game, its traditions and pageantry with Hockey Day in America on Sunday, Feb. 20. As part of USA Hockey’s Hockey Weekend Across America, presented by Reebok, the day-long event will celebrate hockey with a slate of NHL games that are scheduled to include Philadelphia, New York Rangers, Washington, Buffalo, Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Boston. No Devils so far, as far as I know. And shouldn't Hockey Day in America feature all of the U.S. teams? ... CBC’s 11th annual Hockey Day In Canada will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, with the following triple header on CBC’s “Hockey Night In Canada”: Ottawa at Edmonton (2pm ET), Toronto at Montreal (7 pm ET), and Calgary at Vancouver (10pm ET). Hockey Day In Canada celebrates Canada's love and devotion to the game of hockey with celebrations in communities throughout the country. If I had to guess, they're listing the home teams for that night. I'm pretty sure most if not all American teams played on Hockey Day in America last year, though I can't find any information on it online (and it wasn't very well advertised - apparently they're going to try harder this year, having it on a Sunday with NBC doing coverage instead of a Saturday). RowdyFan42
The only thing I don't like about HDIA is that they're planning a rematch of the Heritage Classic (the first outdoor game between Montreal and Calgary before it became the annual Winter Classic event) on the same day. At least this time it'll be televised live in the US, but it's stupid to have both events on the same day.
