Colin226
What do you guys think of Leino? Would anyone take a chance if he's bought out? I always felt like Leino would only be good in the Philly system.. He's good on an offense with lots of good passing, but I never thought he was good on D.. His best move was to skate down the boards into the zone, spin around, and pass to Briere cutting to the net
Triumph
What do you guys think of Leino? Would anyone take a chance if he's bought out? I can't see them buying him out with this much time left on his contract. I mean, Pegula's a billionaire and all, but that would be nearly $12 million in dead money. And I think Colin is right, the Devils tend to dislike this sort of player - passes in the offensive zone mean turnovers. Derlique
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I watched him a lot in Philly and I think he'd be great with Kovalchuk. Leino is a very crafty player and a good passer. True, he's soft, poor defensively and doesnt have a good shot, but I think its worth the risk. Butler-Elias-Zubrus Kovalchuk-Zajac-Leino Henrique-Josefson-Clarkson 4th line
Zubie#8
Sign Sykora, Arnott, and Huselius, problem solved And they will all be cheap.
RizzMB30
I don't think that we're going to add anybody really...maybe one other forward. It's all wishful thinking, plus you need to think that if the season were to start in the next two weeks. We're not going to have Henrique. Maybe not by the start of the season we won't add someone, but with Fayne, Greene, Tally, Volch, Larsson, Zid, Sal AND Harrold signed for next year, you gotta think at least one of those guys is on the move. I got my fingers crossed it's Sal or Volch, but I wouldn't die if Greene was dumped either, but I would suspect that would not happen unless we make a multi player deal where we are getting an NHL dman back in addition to a forward. If Greene gets dumped for an average forward, I'd be pretty upset with Lou. Greene > Sal and Volch, based on play, and by a long shot when you take their contracts into consideration. Signing Sal to that deal is more annoying to me than Parise signing in Minny. That contract is obscene for a player with Zach's tools. But to sign Sal to a terrible contract, when he played average at best and isn't going to get any better baffles me. It's going to look Pandolfo level bad and unfortunately, it's going to be hard to hide him as a defensemen. Plus, because of that contract, we are most likely going to have to cut someone loose who is better than Sal. Sal would have been ok as a weak even strength minute eater, PK specialist but we already have one in Volch.
Jas0nMacIsaac
Sign Sykora, Arnott, and Huselius, problem solved And they will all be cheap. Arnott is not needed with our center depth and we would be so weak along the boards with Huselius and Sykora. I'd rather big defensive responsible wingers.
