Elias Sports Bureau
Not Friesen by me. I love the guy. His head and heart have to get back in the game. They seem to be elsewhere. And that's OK. Langenbrunner cause he'll work himself into the ground trying to do it. And Rafalski because he had injury and serious linemate adjustment issues. NJDevs4978
gotta see who's here and when next year really is before deciding. Exactly. A center would help Friesen and maybe Langenbrunner too (though I think health will help Jamie more). Stevens back would help Rafalski. I don't think Whitey deserves to be lumped into this poll, how about Madden? I love the guy but he had an off year too

NJDevs4978
Bounceback from what, a bad five-game playoff? His numbers in 2004 were eerily similar to his 2003 numbers (in the regular season), hell his save percentage and shutouts were higher and his GAA was one-onehundredth of a point higher. 2002-03 41-23-9-4 2.02 .914 9 SHO 2003-04 38-26-11-4 2.03 .917 11 SHO

And that's not a real intelligent way to stick up for your point, by saying shut up.

Elias Sports Bureau
There is a point to be had. I don't think anyone would say Marty ended the season particularly well. He didn't turn the tide of games with his saves. That's something he's famous for doing. He lacked focus. Yeah, our numbers look pretty damn good, but compared to what we've seen from Marty in his career, I think we can agree this wasn't his best. Doesn't mean we don't respect our goaltender to the ends of the earth. Means there is room for improvement, and Marty knows it better than us. Elias Sports Bureau
Freisen!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think he's LIKELY to have a bounceback season or that he NEEDS to have a bounceback season? He's such an emotional player. He really rides the highs and doesn't seem to show the right mind-set for the lows. He could really grow as a player if he could make some progress in dealing with the lulls. Cause he sure has all-star caliber talent. He wasn't all that good down the stretch of the regular season and in the playoffs...but for someone to say he needs to bounceback more than anyone else on the team? Well I have to challenge that point, especially given his numbers weren't that far off from his career standards and he'll likely win his second Vezina this year. Jas0nMacIsaac
I say White, he really showed his stuff in the playoffs. I think he is finally going to break out and turn into a decent top 3 defensmen on NJ behind Stevens and Niedermayer on the depth charts. Guest Devsrule
Friesen never really had a decent line to play on consistenly. Burns did not pair him up with Jamie enough.
Elias Sports Bureau
Friesen, by nature of the type of player he is, is supposed to make other lines better. Not have them made better for him. Jamie being out as long as he had to didn't help anyone. But he has extreme value to the Madden line too, which is always a pressing concern. It's a tough question. He could even go on our top line. For as much fun as the EGG has been, I think ultimately it's still too small and G would be better suited -- for him AND us -- on a second scoring line with Friesen. If Kozlov could awaken from his slumber that would certainly help there. Hrdina might get something going there. A Rob Nieds type could help there. I would hesitate to break up Elias and Gomez at this point, because they are SO completely aware of where the other one is going to be and what he's going to do. Jas0nMacIsaac
Friesen is a LW, I never seen him play RW ever...maybe a couple shifts this year. Elias-Gomez-Gionta Friesen-Parise-Langenbrunner
