devilsrule33
Probably the most worked up I've been this whole season, and it had nothing to do with the play on ice. It's the fans. The Devils busted their asses tonight. They dominated the Senators. Absolutely dominated them. Outshot them 2 to 1. And the players get viciously booed? Why? They didn't deserve that. Anderson was excellent and this team is not confident, but it was a damn good effort. Good effort might not be enough to win games, but it should always be enough to avoid getting mercifully booed by the home crowd. Just brutal. Just brutal. maybe if they havent sucked terribly all season so far they wouldnt be getting booed over not being able to score one goal.. this sh!t is every game and everyone is frustrated.. they suck horribly and yet most of us continue to waste or time watching and waste our money going to see a sh!t production on ice... booing should be the least of their worries, until everyone stops showing up and they start making much less money for their lack of performance over and over
NJDevs4978
The booing was cumulative. They could have been booed like that 7-8 times before tonight. The crowd collectively snapped. Can't blame them when this team has 65 wins in nearly 200 games.
'7'
8-16-6 since the 3-0 start. Blown leads left and right. Retarded in the shootout again. Fans are sick of this sh!t and i dont blame them. It's not even Christmas and the season is over.

titans04
Thankfully there were plenty of fans dressed as empty seats. Boo hoo if they can't take the heat. The good news is the apathy will grow and there will be less passion in the building as this plays out.
SterioDesign
I dont like the booing cause all the players really tried tnight... But a collective effort from this group is not enough cause were lacking way too much talent... The booing should go to Lou for putting this mess together. Its really not the players fault. Put crosby on this team and hes still gonna lose more game than he should.

This team couldn't score on yet another 5 on 3 power play. This team has been pathetic for the majority of the season. Devils01
Were just used to the sucess over the last 20 years. Time to face the facts its time to rebuild every team goes through it at one point. Everyone neess to stop whining and face facts. Maybe we could squek in the playoffs maybe lou pulls something out of his ass with trades but i dont see anything happening
devilsrule33
This team isn't good. Most nights they play their ass off. That's what the average fan can't figure out. It is a bunch of old players and grinders trying to make something happen. Fans can boo, I just disagree 100% with it. If I paid money tonight, I would leave frustrated that the team wasn't rewarded with a good effort. I'm happy Elias spoke out because he might be the only player with clout with the fans. '7'
I woublnt say 6 points is insurmountable in mid december.. absolutely insurmountable for this team. Plus they will go the rest of the season without winning another shootout unlike other teams who pick up shootout points. You can take that to the bank

The fans were pissed and were sending a message to not only the team but the front office too, I mean the owners are used to losing so it wont phase them, but fans are also booing the architect of the horrendously built product on the ice. Just to add this is most likely going to be the 3rd season in a row we miss the playoffs, the boos are gonna only rain down harder as the season progresses. I didn't boo but I don't blame people who did.

NJDevs4978
Just to add this is most likely going to be the 3rd season in a row we miss the playoffs, the boos are gonna only rain down harder as the season progresses. I didn't boo but I don't blame people who did. It'll be more apathy as the season rolls on, this was the breaking point IMO. You could sense it before the game when Pete got maybe the loudest boos I've heard him get yet and then five minutes in the life was sucked out of the crowd with yet another early goal. Apparently the ones that weren't booing were brawling down in the lower concourse lol But seriously though, I have no sympathy for the players. Would the optics have been better if the Washington game was the one that got the boos sure, or if they were able to boo one of the MANY no-shows on the road the last two weeks for that matter. But when you've already missed the playoffs two years running and are out of it by Christmas this year, fans are going to snap. I'm supposed to feel sorry for them getting booed in a game they actually give effort when that hasn't been the case the majority of the season? And I love Patty but he can go scratch too, he's been maybe the worst player on the team this year this side of Ryder. When management isn't going to hold anyone accountable other than role players and a couple of kids for anything, fans are the only ones that can do it. NJDevs4978
Forget the six points out crap which is really worse than six points like 731 pointed out cause every team above us has games in hand, and because it's multiple teams in front of us and not merely one single team we're chasing. It's really about hitting a target point total. 92 points is about the cutoff line every year for a playoff spot. They have 28 points in 33 games, to get to 92 points this team would have to go something like 30-15-4 in their last 49 games. This team is going to play 15 games over .500 the rest of the season? Monkeys will fly out of my rear end before that happens. Edited December 18, 2014 by NJDevs4978
