Devils Supporters Section Update - waiting to hear back by 6:30pm

Satans Hockey

Recommended Posts

steady beat clap in the back ground:

"Go Devils GOOOOOOOO!

[to the tune of runaround sue:

Oh OH OH oh OH OOOOOO

OH o OH oh OH ooooooooo

Oh OH OH oh OH OOOOOO!]

GO DEVILS GOOOOO!"

repeat

Also, ALL supporters should have a scarf and we wave them whenever we're not clapping to the beat of whatever chant we're doing.

Screw rally towels, screw pompoms, lets continue to evolve hockey using proven staples from soccer, SCARVES!!

I know i'd buy at least four, keep one for games, one for my wall, one to actually wear and one to display proudly wherever i go next.

Any injuries for opposing teams, "Let her die let her die let her diiiiiiiiiiiiiie. Let her die let her dieeee let her diiiiiiiiiiiiieeee. Let her die let her die let her die, let her die, LET! HER! DIE!"

"you are my devils!

my only devils!

you make me happy, when skies are grey!

you'll never know just, how much we love you!

so don't take, my Devils away!

[incohearant yelling to the tune of the 1st voice]

repeat"

Please, anything but this. We're not trying to be a terrible Beatles cover band now.

I'm not wearing a scarf.

The I believe and scoreboard chants are awesome, if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Did you guys see the Habs fans in 103? That's exactly what we need to be..

do you even understand the point of the scarf? its not just to wear, its to give us a much needed alternative to the pompoms or the oft used towels that EVERYONE uses, what's wrong with being unique?

as for the scoreboard chant, didnt hear theirs, but ohio university used this one for every sporting event in college, my school's student section mocked them for our rivalry game when we ended up actually winning on senior night:

Call [done by 1 or 2 fans, pointing]: Is that not the scoreboard?

Answer [rest of section, pointing]: Yes that is the scoreboard!

C: Is that not the number [insert our score here]

A: Yes that is the number [same]

C: Is that not the number [away score]

A: Yes that is the number [same]

C: Is that not the winning team?

A: Yes that is the winning team!

C: Is that not the losing team?

A: Yes that is the losing team!

Everyone: Winning team! Losing team! [pointing to each team as each part is said] repeat this part until it becomes jumbled.

The one our school typically did was this, with one or two people leading, again a call and answer:

C: I!

A: I!

C: I BELIEVE!

A: I BELIEVE!

C: I BELIEVE THAT!

A: I BELIEVE THAT!

C: I BELIEVE THAT WE!

A: I BELIEVE THAT WE!

[pause for 5 seconds]

Everyone:

I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!

I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!

I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!

I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!

I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!

Those are the chants (except it's I believe that we will win)...But they are best done by Utah State fans:

As far as the scarf goes...It's just seems to me that it comes across as odd. I'll gladly bring a rally towel...

they use scarfs in european league supporter sections. again, its also a borrowed concept from soccer.

could you imagine if we had 1/10th of the fans at the rock do the chants as well as utah does in that video?

[ps - i'm glad you pulled that one and not ours [uB] done by about 50 fans]

here's the I Believe chant done by us 3 years ago:

I feel like for this idea to be effective we can't be bickering about petty things like scarves. Obviously there are going to be such little quirks that not every single participant is 100% excited about, but it's not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, so if the majority wants scarves, then so be it. If the majority doesn't, then so be it.

can we all agree that if you are to sit in this section, you MUST WEAR RED

christmas tree or current uniforms, doesnt matter, even if its an ugly red christmas sweater from your holiday party 15 years ago, you must wear your red. have some form of section unity.

+1 I always wanted everyone in our arena in all red, but that will never happen so lets just make one section red!

I just want to see a return of the "Let's Go Devils" chant at various times of the game, along with the "Mar-ty!" chant after he makes a good save. "De-fense" chants don't really work, but could on the penalty kill or prior to defensive zone faceoffs. Tricky thing is that chants while the Devils are in the defensive zone could screw up their communication (provided the chants were actually loud enough to have that impact).

It'd also be nice to have the Devils score enough goals on the team they're playing that the chanting of the goalie's name can be resurrected.

again, when the game is all but over (2 goal lead with under a minute to go, or we already won) an awesome chant is the "OUR HOUSE! *clap clap* OUR HOUSE! *clap clap* OUR HOUSE!". Everyone points to the ground when you say OUR HOUSE and claps. it's pretty awesome.]

Can we sing Our House by Madness instead?

[****my biggest suggestion***, what duke ALWAYS does is have a CHANT SHEET, they print out a few thousand copies (obviously we'd only need 100 or so). the chant-sheets are filled with every different chant that we're going to try; it lets everyone read over the sheet before the game, and the chants are easily coordinated
