devilsrule33
A sad pathetic effort by a sad pathetic hockey club For the first time Chico sounds really annoyed. Like bitter annoyed (the crowd called that penalty and quips like that) Even though we were only down 1-0 all game (thank you Schneider) it seemed like they were down 10-0 as there was no forcheck, no sense of urgency, no real scoring chances...I think Gionta had one early in the 3rd, that's all I can remember. They don't have enough playmaking up front. Clowe is looking like a bust, he is embarrassingly slow and can't create any chances on his own Zajac doesn't score enough to be a #1 anything. He's a 40 point player per 82 games. That's not a #1 center. Parise carried his sorry ass for some time. Brunner has disappeared Jagr has become out best offensive player. Getting shutout twice in the first 6 games is humiliating There is just nothing here. No creativity entering the zone, no skill with the puck, no scoring chances...just straight ahead moron caveman hockey. This team feels miles behind others skill wise. They are miss matched and poorly assembled. Hard to argue with much here. It is painful watching this team right now.
'7'
And it's time to kick Stevens to the curb. I know you don't want to embarrass him but who cares at this point. "reassign" him. But there needs to be a real coach behind the bench. That or do a clean sweep of the entire bench. Get Lemaire...and if he says no get Laviolette. But this Stevens/Deboer joke has to end
MadDog2020
Please, Lou isn't firing DeBoer right now. I think we're all at the point where no one would be upset if it happened, but its not going to so everyone can take a pill on that. Lou will wait until we've lost 10 in a row and then maybe he'll fire this a$$hole. 10-29. That's the run the team is on. He'll probably be fired, the problem is that the replacement is going to be Stevens. Johnny Mac's run was 9-24 before he got sh!tcanned Stevens is not going to be the replacement, that's assanine to even think. Lou should be committed if that happens. devilsrule33
I don`t get how anyone can ask for Deboer to be fired by Lou. If Lou thought a coaching change was needed as a fix, he`d be laughed at. He should resign as GM before Deboer gets fired. And I am not calling for Lou to be fired exactly, but this is ridiculous. It`s one thing to change coaches when you have Brodeur in his prime, Stevens, Niedermayer, Rafalski, Elias, Arnott, Sykora, Gomez etc. But not with this team. thecoffeecake
I really like Schneider, but I don't see how he wants to stay in NJ with that kind of offensive support. You guys think this is bad? Wait until schneider is (maybe) gone because he doesn't have offensive support. Good, ship him out for Vanek, bring Kinkaid up. If we're going to finish in last place, might as well give him a shot. Do we really want a guy who wears 35 to honor Mike Richter in net for the next decade? I'm sorry, but this better have been DeBoer's last game.

TheRedStorm
Ryan "Slowe" is a smart player, tough, better then average passer, takes the body goes to the net and protects the puck well. The problem is his total lack of speed. He needs alot of puck support on his line becuase he isn't getting to it to create anything by himself. Amberite
Before the season started I told a friend of mine that this team is a complete mystery, and it'll either be a crazy success or a disaster of epic proportions. It's only been 6 games, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer. Apparently you really can't build a team off of old, supporting players and hope that you'll have four 60 goal lines by the end of the year. There needs to be a catalyst for the supporting players, and we simply don't have any. Every single player on this team (including Elias at this point in his career) is painfully mediocre at best, and that just doesn't cut it when there's no player on the team that can create offense without any help. Colorado Rockies 1976
Seems like so long ago that I was excited for the season to start. It's a maddening team to watch. Schneider has stopped 61 out of 66 shots in his last two games. Beyond that, I'm all out of positives.
MadDog2020
I didn't even see the 3rd goal because I turned this fvcking flaming piece of garbage off after the empty netter. Apparently Chico was even beside himself. If Chico is giving you sh!t, you fvcking suck.
ThreeCups
Pitiful As someone pointed our earlier, Jagr and Schneider look like our best players

'7'
Larsson won't ever live up to his draft status, but he'll still probably have a long, decent NHL career. Eric Weinrich type perhaps Zajac is the one I'm worried about. His O has completely dried up
Sneax
We have no game changers, no real talent outside of Schneider that is hung out to dry 5-6 times a game minimum, and he only gave up 1 goal off a deflection off a defensemen. The real mistake? Drafting matteau 2 years ago instead of forgoing that pick. This is a lost season, we aren't gnna win and we aren't gonna have anything to show for it afterwards either. Devilsfan118
I think it was Maddog or DiG that said this, but we're essentially watching the same game, night-in and night-out. And it's REALLY getting old.

dmann422
1st post. This is only six games. 7% of the season - calm down and keep the faith, not necessarily because Deboer is a great coach or our roster is stanley cup caliber, but because the one person in this organization who I have learned to never doubt is Lou. He will not accept a pitiful season and will do something before its too late (He's learned from MacLean). We have a score by comittee roster and its frustrating when none of the committee produces, but unlike last season they have shown they can put it in the net. Once everything starts to fire (couch powerplay cough) at the same time, this team will start running off wins. tl;dr: Lou will not accept losing, the Metro division sucks, and Schneider is good enough to steal games.
