Robert Griffin declares eligible for the draft....that's a plus and a step too....

Fisher is taking his sweet-ass time ain't he?

I think Fisher is waiting for the inevitable firing of Jim Caldwell, and then the fvcking Colts will hire him. They just hired a GM today, so I'm starting to think he played both the Fins and the Rams. If we don't get Fisher, I'm hoping for Mike Zimmer.

Notice how that decision that the Miami Herald said was coming today is still pending.

At this point I don't even think I want Fisher. If he can't decide on the Phins with out reservations...it could have Sabanesque repercussions. Also, I think RGIII being eligible means absolutely nothing to the Phins. He'll go EARLY and we're not going to mortgage the farm to get him. Especially considering how good Moore did this year. I have a feeling we're more likely to end up with Peyton or Flynn then get RGIII.

If Fisher backs out, I want Cowher or Gruden. Someone with a more proven record than an assistant.

Cowher and Gruden aren't coaching next season, that much is clear. I wondered if they were telling the truth when they both said they wanted to stay in TV, but it appears they were. They haven't even been mentioned as possibilities anywhere other than the speculation about the Fins job before the season ended. With the possibilty of there being more attractive jobs open next year like San Diego, Dallas, or Philly, I think both of them are definitely sitting it out another year. In Cowher's case, it seems like he could be done with coaching for good based on what he's said before.

I'm starting to dislike Jeff Ireland...

There's a couple of other guys that are looking to get their shot, including Zimmer from CIN and the Bears Special Teams coach. But it sounds like Ireland wouldn't budge any power and it cost the team Fisher.

I've never liked Ireland, especially since the time that he wasted a second round pick on Pat White. Outside of drafting Jake Long, the guy hasn't done anything.

I can't hate too much, considering that we can put all the pieces together probably with a QB, NT, and pass-rushing specialist (mind you, neither of the first two is easy to find...). He's a dick of a human being, but this team is not so far off from competing (like, say, Jacksonville or Cleveland)

Fisher was the dick if you asked me. I don't care what reports leak out with Schefter...he used the Phins to leverage more money.

I'm not as big an Ireland hater as most. I think Long, Moore, Bush and Marshall are pretty good acquisitions/draft picks. Sure Pat White was a dud, but John Beck and Chad Henne weren't exactly superstars either. We have a long history of throwing away draft picks, especially in the second round. I'm still not 100% sold on Daniel Thomas. (and while INCREDIBLY inappropriate, I find the whole Bryant Prostitute thing hysterical)

That being said, it really sucks balls that for the 2nd year in a row a top tier coach has completely dissed us to coach somewhere else. Sadly this is gonna end up with us having another mediocre season going nowhere.

Maybe it's a good thing we didn't get Fisher- he just hired Brian Schottenheimer as his offensive coordinator lol.

With Fishers D and Schottenheimers O talents, the West is going to be a tough place in the next few years. Great move by Fisher. Bradford, Lloyd, and Jackson will have career years with Schottenheimer. St Louis will be a great place for both coaches and both know you win games at the line of scrimmage and players that want to win.

We shall see. I think it would be hilarious if Schottenheimer turned out to be a good OC out there- it would really piss off the Jet fans that much more lol. I'm on the Mike Zimmer train- give me Zimmer as the HC, Todd Bowles as the DC, and Hue Jackson as the OC and I would be very happy.

Look no further than the pedestrian numbers that Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, and Brett Favre all put up while working under Schottenheimer, to understand what kind of an OC he really is. --garbage! Brian Schottenheimer got his fame due to the nepotism of his Father.. nothing more. Again, and not to beat a dead horse, the Jets offense during the 7 seasons under Schottenheimer? --average 22nd ranked overall in the league! (and that's with a boatload of weapons during that span) If Schotty didn't have the luxury of working with a LaDainian Tomlinson in his prime for 4 years in San Diego, he never would have gotten as far as the Jets in 2006. He would've went back to playing with himself in Syracuse.

..as a Jet fan, next season can't come soon enough.. for a number of reasons.

"..I asked Tony Sparano how many times the word "Wildcat" came up when he met with Rex. He laughed. "Good question!" he said." B )

The thing that sealed the deal for me was when he had Sanchez drop back to throw 64 times against the Giants. 64. I knew he was an idiot, but that was the ultimate confirmation of just what a clown Schottenheimer is as a play-caller.

Dolphins meeting with Philbin a second time...and have scheduled re-interviews with Bowles and Mike McCoy

It also appears that Toub is out of the process, as Toub took a new deal with the Bears.

Zimmer I'm not sure about...he's not scheduled for a second interview yet, but sources claim his first interview was strong.

Zimmer's out of the running, apparently he was "too blunt and honest" at his interview, according to the Miami Herald (I guess that means he probably told Ross and Ireland how much they both suck). Its down to Philbin, McCoy, or Bowles. Out of those guys, I'd want Philbin. But whoever we choose will probably suck. I'm to the point with this franchise that I just expect every decision to be the wrong one.

I'd rather have Bowles at this point. I see Philbin as a rehash of Cam Cameron. The flavor of the month offensive coordinators rarely become quality head coaches.

At least Bowles has shown he can win a few games as a head coach.

I've thought about that... But Aaron Rodgers has praised Philbin up and down and credited him a great deal with his development. That's important, seeing as how we're gonna bring in a young QB. I think the Fins want Philbin so he can bring in Matt Flynn, along with Tom Clements as the offensive coordinator. Keep Bowles as the defensive coordinator. It wouldn't surprise me if that's what Ireland and Ross have in mind.

I don't know if I see Flynn as that much of an upgrade over Moore. Yes, I know he had an awesome start. But that was 1 start and he was playing with GB's receivers. Put him on the Browns and I don't think he'd be quite as impressive. That being said, I think Philbin is the best out of the 3 supposed "finalists". Although I'm still not sold on any of them. What happened to Ross' dedication to bring in a "big name" coach?

We definitely need a new young QB, but call me crazy, I don't think we're getting one this year. I have a feeling this team is going to regress next season. We might still end up with Barkley or Jones.

I think whoever is the coach is gonna go the route of J-Mac. Come in over his head...and end up getting fired after not being able to do anything.
