2015 New York Jets thread

The officiating in this game was embarrassing to the league. Was Sheldon and Mo Wilk not also getting punched and slapped in the endzone? Really? The Jets did ALL the fighting there? And Mo Wilk deserved to be tossed from the game because of this?

2nd straight game where the refs came in with an agenda. Ignored every single packer offensive hold or secondary hold, and got the Jets for every chincy BS penalty. Some not even replayed (Babin got one for being pushed backwards into Rodgers. Roughing the passer. HUH?)

Stupid stupid job by MM calling that timeout. But the play was still gotten off in time.

Also, way too many lame up the gut plays when it was clear they were not working.

Deckers injury just shorted this offense

Considering the Jets were the team falling apart in every which way possible I can't really blame the refs for giving us the short end of the stick on those ejections, it looked like we were trying to start fights at that point :P

And what's the point of having a rule that only the head coach can call a timeout from the sideline if you're not going to check to see who's actually calling the freaking timeout?

that's ridiculous. Plus the play was already in motion. MM can't call the T.O...a touchdown was scored. The fvck are they bending over backwards to help Green Bay?

Between the Crowd Noise and the time left on the play clock, I can't blame the ref on that one (and I'm as tough on the refs as ANYONE is)

Yeah that's the other problem, they didn't blow it dead until after the fact (if there even was a whistle at all).  When there's a timeout they'll stop the play immediately.  That play took ten seconds, they had time to blow the play dead before it was completed.

..of the 31 points that Green Bay scored, 28 came within a span of 13 minutes between the 2nd & 3rd quarters. To compare.. the Packers scored a total of 3 points between the 1st quarter and 4th quarter combined! This..... simply.... can't...... happen!

When you squander an 18 point lead, you deserve to lose the game. When you begin the 2nd quarter up 21-3, then walk into halftime 21-17.. you deserve to lose the game. When your defense allows 400 yrds, and your QB only throws for 170.. you deserve to lose the game.

The Jets deserved to lose this game. I can go to sleep tonight feeling contempt for my beloved team, NOT regret.. and that's why nothing else about the game is bothersome to me. Not the sloppy penalties.. not the poor officiating.. not even the timeout at the end. Because it NEVER... should've...... EVER..... gotten to that point! Ever!! This game should've been put away by halftime. But between poor execution, poor quarterback play, and poor coaching by BOTH Marty & Rex.. they allowed momentum to take effect, and thus, they allowed the Packers to get back in the game.

..looking ahead, not the end of the world here. The Jets get an extra day of rest\prep, and are about to go home - where they play great - to beatable Bears team.

Who knows, maybe this loss is the best thing that'll happen to the Jets. All you can hope for after tonight, is this game humbled them. It made the players\coaches more focused, and underscored that: it takes 60 minutes to win a football game.. not just 46. They can dwell on that during the plane ride back to NJ. They can also dwell on the fact that they could've been 2-0 right now.. but THEY blew it.

This is the deal for next week.

1. Decker HAS to play. Has to. The offense is so radically different when he's not in there. Without him we looked like the 2012/2013 Jets

2. Milliner. If he's still running like a wounded sloth than sit his ass. Killed us today. Jordy Nelson is still running

3. Winters has to play a better game. That first INT was not Geno's fault at all as the guy just bull rushed Winters and smacked Geno's arm before he made the throw

4. Cutler us no Rodgers. We need to get some pressure and force him into turnovers. He will turn it over and play stupid if you pressure him

5. Keep your cool. The whole damn team

6. Play a disciplined game and hope the refs don't fvck you over. Some things you cannot control...but you can control false start, defensive offsides etc

7. if Vick isn't starting, he shouldn't see the field

8. Enough of the vertical run BS. This is a horizontal run attack with Ivory and CJ and Powell. Stop with the tiptoeing going sideways at the line and looking for a hole.

9. The bears have deadly good receivers with Marshall and Jeffrey. I have no answer for this other than our secondary has to play the game of their lives.

He has been tonight :P  Bit the dust AGAIN in one of my fantasy leagues thanks to Cutler and Crabtree going off.

But yeah pretty much agreed with that, the only way to 'stop' the big receivers is to have long clock-eating drives, not let them on the field and hope Hyde Cutler shows up and not Jekyll Cutler.

watching them do this against the san fran d makes me supremely confident that they will absolutely massacre our defensive backs next week. massacre.

Our running game was supposed to dominate the Packers D too.  We did get some yardage but it was misleading, since a lot of it came on Geno scrambles and the lead option pitch to Kerley.  We couldn't really get yards between the tackles when we needed them and freaking Powell looked better than either of the other two heads on the monster.  We'd better run the ball better against the Bears.

Ironically though three runs into the line at the end of the first half would have served us better, at least we'd have gone up 24-9 and force the Packers to use their timeouts.

The runs that were executed were poorly designed by MM. I'm not one put the entire blame on any ONE person after a loss, (and lord knows, Marty is the best OC we've had in 11 years) but this was head-&-shoulders Mornhinweg's worst called game in his short tenure with the Jets.

That last 2-minute drive to end the first half told the whole story. The Jets recover the ball at mid-field, on a blown onsides kick.. and the next 4 plays are: throw, throw, throw.... and, throw?? :noclue: The last 10 minutes were completely dominated by Green Bay. They had all the momentum, as the lead continued to shrink from 21-3.. to 21-6.... 21-9.. and now the Jets have the ball with 2 minutes left @ the 50 yrd line, and you're calling passing plays??! JUST GET THE FVCK OUT OF THE 2ND QUARTER, AND HEAD INTO HALFTIME!!!! RUN THE BALL!! --if you get a 1st down, then fine.. but at least if you don't move the chains, you can kill the clock to leave Green Bay with no time to strike. After all, we were going to start the 3rd quarter with the ball anyway. Instead, Geno throws a pick to allow the Packers, who score yet ANOTHER touchdown, and the lead shrinks to 6 points!!! It was a 10 point swing, where the Jets should've at least headed into halftime up 24-9.

It wasn't a bad playcall. Sudfeld was open but emerging bust Brian Winters whiffed on his block and Geno was hit as he threw. What may have been 1st and goal ended up an INT.

That said, I would've played it safe there as well and taken the points, run down the clock...just run at them with Ivory. Cool any Green Bay momentum going into the half.

The Decker injury killed them as well. As soon as he went out the offense ground to a halt.

Well what do you expect, our WR's were horse**** last year aside from Kerley (who really should be a #3), and Decker was the only significant addition there.  Our draft picks haven't done much at this point.  They really should have at least tried to use the TE's more in the passing game though.

Geno smith proved tonight that he is a stupid person who does stupid things with the football. Like that idiotic "Toss it up what the hell" that took 3 pts off the boards for us...and that idiotic sanchez like INT on the 2nd play.

It is Vick time. He is no Rhodes scholar himself but he is better than Geno. Geno is done as an nfl qb. The brain matter is not there. it will never be there.
