GDT. Rangers vs Devils

Apparently word is going around on twitter I think started by Sean hartnett that after Gelinas scored Pete deboer said out loud while walking to the locker room "8 million dollar goalie my ass"

Lol if true

The Ryder goal was bad.

The Gelinas goal was even worse.

But both guys have hard shots.  And that's what happens when you shoot.  If I'm a Rags fan, I'm pissed at Lundqvist for both of those goals.

God it is awesome to see Gelinas and Merill excel. Just to not look out of place would be a normal expectation but these guys are really improving the transition game. Soon Larsson will be back too. Funny there aren't any chirps about Urbom anymore.

Severson, Scarlet, and Sanaiti waiting in the wings... Lock up Cor; we really could be on the verge of something special

Anybody know when Larsson is supposed to be back?

Maybe in G and D, but you only win games by scoring goals, we need help up front too.

Dude, you cannot neglect the fact of having a dynamite goaltender and blue line makes it much easier to build an offense. Not saying all those guys pan out, but if most of them do, an average offense with that lineup makes us a contender every year.

Plus, the defense all have offensive games. Takes a ton of pressure off. Defense wins championships

That does help...but the perfect team in the whole super D/G and lousy forwards scenario is Nashville.  You only go so far even with that mix if you can't get any semblance scoring up front.

If that makes us a consistent playoff team, I'll take it. Beggars can't be choosers and lately even the playoffs have been in question.

not disagreeing with that at all, in fact i do agree it changes us from a border team to contender, and I will take that every year. All we need is a chance and we can take it (see 2012).

I would just feel a bit more comfortable with a stronger forward presence.

seeing our D prospects work out make me happy, and i am hoping we lock up Schneider long term. Then we can patch the forwards and go from there.

Even if this season doesn't work out, i am looking forward to our future.
