  1. I'm in the process of moving and I think I inadvertently tossed my treasured copy of the 2003 cup clincher. This is very distressing to me on many levels, but I'm here to appeal for help. If anyone has the full ABC broadcast of this game, including commercials and post game, I would make it worth your while to make me a copy. Please PM me if you're interested. THANKS!
  2. I like the moves so far, especially in light of losing Paul Martin, but we're still a speck in the rear-view mirror of the Flyers. I think we have some nice talent, but also have some way under-achieving vets that are killing our cap and have to go (aka Rolston, possibly Langs). Some of the young kids will have to really step up this year if we're to contend. Johnny Mac will have his hands full, but if he can show true leadership and gain the respect of the players, I think we'll be all right; definitely not a cup team, but an exciting team to watch. Now if we sign Kovy!!!
  3. LOL! Seriously, two thumbs down to Stan for the bitterness. Booooooooooooo!
  4. How much does this reduce our cap? Could Rolston be next?
  5. This is definitely not the same team that got off to the fantastic start last October-December. They've lost their focus and heart in a big way and it's too late now to correct it. The Devils have played the Flyers 9 times now and seem bewildered every single game by the aggressive, attacking forechecking and tenacious hitting that the Flyers have only exhibited when they play the Devils. I just don't see that changing all of a sudden. The addition of Kovalchuk should have been the missing piece that was going to propel the offense to new heights, but that hasn't happened. Anyone who has watched this team, especially the second half of the season, could see this coming a mile away; play good/great one game, look like dung for the next two or three; that kind of play will get you nowhere fast. It's really a shame too because when the Devils are on, they look like world beaters. Unfortunately, the switch for this team is stuck on off and the golf season looms on the horizon. Please make me eat crow on this
  6. Congratulations to the New Jersey Devils, 2009-2010 Atlantic Division Champs!!! While this means absolutely nothing beginning on Wednesday, it's nice to once again shut up the critics and prognosticators who have annually predicted our demise for quite some time now.
  7. This is not going to be a popular thread, but I hope we sit Marty and rest the top two lines a lot tomorrow. It's much better to be the 3rd seed (we'd get the Bruins) at this point than the 2nd seed (we'd probably get the Flyers or, if the Rags miraculously win tomorrow, the Canadiens).
  8. Wow, I just heard Father Corapi is coming to The Prudential Center on October 30, 2010! For those of you (especially you Catholics) that don't know him, do yourself a favor and do some research. You won't be sorry! This should be a great event and I'm sure it will sell-out very quickly. I'm very excited about this news as he doesn't travel much anymore. Hopefully, he says it's okay to like the NJ Devils!
  9. This shows it doesn't take much to virtually guarantee a sell-out for most of the weeknight games. Giveaways like bobbleheads, pucks, mini-Brodeur masks, cheap t-shirts for ALL fans, $1 dog nights....all of which can be done for a low cost and bring significant profits through increased ticket sales....would help the attendance issues a lot. I guess their feeling is that too many giveaways would cause interest to wane after a while, but I don't think this would be the case. Heck, it's worth a try. I know this has been discussed to death around here, but it's worth mentioning again in this thread. Btw, I attended the first puck giveaway last year and was sad to see how they botched it. I'll admit I purchased 4 pucks at $20/each, but I did get there very early in the day, waiting in line for up to 3 hours, anticipating such a fiasco. Glad to hear they cleaned it up with the second puck giveaway last season and the one next week. I have an extra Daneyko puck that I'd be willing to trade with anyone (pm me). Guess it serves me right, to get a double, for being greedy
  10. Can't wait to watch the replay of this game on Center Ice. Thank You Devils! I can go to sleep tonight with a smile on my face!!

  13. I'm happy for you that you thoroughly enjoyed your first experience at the Rock. We should all be grateful that this building was built before the economy collapsed.
  14. Devils in 5. Anyone that followed this team all year knows how they're capable of playing well for long stretches even against the elite teams. Carolina is not an elite team, imho. They're a nice team that got a little hot at the end of the season, but I don't feel they're in the same class as the Devils. The Devils could still lose this series, but if they do it's because of beating themselves with poor play, not Carolina being a superior team.
