DevilinLA
do the devils have most injured players or does someone else have more? Could have said PIT up until recently.

SatansDevils
do the devils have most injured players or does someone else have more? Pittsburgh did have a lot but right now the Devils and Carolina may have the most. Carolina lost key players like Staal and Ward, which is big for them. SC Devs Fan
Your incorrect assessment is incorrect. How many players have played through broken bones? See Sidney Crosby, March 2007. Of all the bad scenarios, a broken leg would be ideal. It's a set --and KNOWN-- number of weeks for recovery. Once a bone is healed, it's healed, there's no "Oh, it's just not feeling right .. can't play for another two months" a la Forsberg. You couldn'tve possibly thought I implied a broken bone is better than no injury at all. And a splint can tell you a few things--the injury is minor enough for the player to walk out on his own two feet. Would any trainer risk putting millions of dollars worth of player on his two feet, with or without a brace, if the injury was severe enough to cause further damage by adding body weight? Dude I don't have time to go on and on, but there are favorable and unfavorable fractures. You can add all the weight you want to a favorable fracture and it won't budge. And once a bone a bone is healed it doesn't mean there can't be problems, although you'd have to believe the Devils orthopedic staff would make sure evrything is aligned. Back to your original statement, a break is never better then a bone bruise and while it can be better then an ACL/MCL, to use your arguments how many players have played thru MCL/ACL injuries and had surgery after the year... it just isn't as sexy to say you play thru a MCL sprain then a broken bone. Jas0nMacIsaac
I also thought right away andrew ebbett would be an excellent pickup. If NJ passes on him I'd be surprised.

devilsrule33
I also thought right away andrew ebbett would be an excellent pickup. If NJ passes on him I'd be surprised. 32 points in 48 games last season. Centred Ryan and Selanne and got a lot of PP time. Finished the season very strong, but fizzled in the playoffs. Pretty fast apparently.

Sarge18
I bet Lou stays within the farm system There isnt a farm system left at Center. Ben Walter would be the only option, and he has 1 point in 22 career games.
Sickman
Per Gulitti Zubrus out 4-6 weeks. I figured as much but this sucks something big none the less. Edited November 20, 2009 by SickMan
pattyelias
I bet Lou stays within the farm system I'm thinking that Lemaire will try Elias at center. Zajac Elias McAmmond Pelley. Once Niedermayer comes back you put him on 3rd line and then put Elias back at wing and McAmmond at center.

SC Devs Fan
Wow, and that's only 6 weeks? Obviously that depends on what part of the patella is fractured; if he has surgery then I'd think he had a piece chip off, if they splint it then he cracked the bone. If he destroyed the patella no way would he be back in 6.
RWTDblog
its a hairline fracture, i knew someone with that when i was younger and he healed pretty quickly but he was younger than Zubbie... 6 weeks without him in the line will hurt... OK thats three threads now that I've read where you've posted the exact same thing.... How can it be "a blessing" that 3 AHL forwards are going to have to eat all that ice time? What happened not enough about Marty's game to pick on? I'll tell you this, there about 29 other teams that would take MB and his contract in a heartbeat. I didn't nor did JL.
DevilinLA
So you want to talk about Marty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you like Marty's game against Nashville? I didn't nor did JL. I get the feeling Marty doesn't trust his current defense. There's a point where these guys are bobbling the puck so much in their own zone that I think he feels a "take matters into his own hand" mentality. As far as the shootout....MB has stolen FAR, FAR, too many of those for you to even open your mouth.

I didn't open my mouth about the shootout goal, I might have questioned the first two goals or at least one. You brought up the shootout goal and I guess as you say that if Marty hadn't stolen FAR,FAR, to many you would have said he failed in this past shootout. That's you opinion. Tell me what does ""take matters into his own hand" mentality" mean to Marty? I am curious.

Tell me what does ""take matters into his own hand" mentality" mean to Marty? I am curious. I have said this many times in the past before. He begins to overplay pucks, meaning with his stick. He goes after many more pucks, lots of poke checks. He also will cheat angles a tiny bit to cover passes when he doesn't trust defensemen, insteead of just playing the man. Another thing he does is will try to force rebounds away from the front of the net, by his stick or pads...causing a bad rebound and the appearance he's fighting pucks...well because that's what he's doing.
