metallidevils
I'd have to say: Marty Rafalski White Martin Gionta Gomez Elias Langenbrunner Parise Madden Pandolfo

BrodeurDevils
id have to say everyone that was there this year lol, we went on a 15 game win streak, we swept the rangers, and overall had a great season, maybe add a few additions to defense and offense and i think well be set... Chimaira_Devil_#9
I'd have to say:Marty Rafalski White Martin Gionta Gomez Elias Langenbrunner Parise Madden Pandolfo I agree with all of them with the adition of Hale and Cam J, as much as i love the other players most of them are getting to old and lack speed and scoring abillity. BRIAN ROLSTON!!! I dont know if that is sarcasm or not , , but i have been pushing this one for a while, he is the sort of second line center we could use, big , strong infront of the net, im not sure about his speed though, i think thats what this teem needs power and speed. Chimaira_Devil_#9
leaving out Brylin better have been an accident. Why?? I appreciate everything sarge has done for the devils but i can see where he can play on this team anymore , he is not a second line player, he is vunerable on the madden pando line , and i dont think he would be happy logging 5 minutes a game on the 4th line. gordienumber9
well, once again seeing brylin off the devils would be heart breaking, but if he comes to the rangers i'm getting a jersey and it's not just gonna say brylin, it's gonna say from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff, sergei mother f*****g brylin with 18s everywhere and lots of !!!! but i'd still ratehr have him in NJ sarge is an assest, it's clear, when the rest of the team was playing from their seast on the benches sarge was the only one makeing an effort. he's got heart. there's not much more important then that

emptynet
Langenbrunner is tough decision. He's really not worth anymore than what he's making now, but somebody will offer him more, and Lou will let him go. I would hate to see him go, but I think it's safe to say...Jamie has played his last game for the Devils.

Hes slowed down since that knee injury. I also think the dumb penalties are a part of that too, too often hed get caught in the neutral zone and looked like he was a Floppa Fish. metallidevils
i was going to list reasons for leaving the players off that i did, but decided against it, i figured brylin was a fan favorite and I'd get some flack for that. I think that Brylin is a hard working player and doesnt make that many mistakes. However, what are his pros? Does the guy actually do anything? He doesnt score, he's not outstanding defensively, he doesnt hit...i dont know how he's made it on all three championship teams. Marshall is another guy who plays hard, but just isnt skilled enough. Jamie I think is an underachiever, it wouldnt break my heart to see him go, but I think he fits in on the 2nd or 3rd line.

halfsharkalligatorhalfman
Jaime is a solid player, and performed well in every position we put him in (powerplay shot from the point, defensive specialist with maddenbrunner, 2nd line offensive option with elias). You aren't giving him the credit he deserves. He played very well for the team this year and to write him off because he seemed a step slower than a very very fast carolina team is foolish. If we can get him for relatively cheap it's worth it, around 2 million is reasonable.

Lateralous
I would add Richard Matvichuk to those that were already named.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Langenbrunner is tough decision. He's really not worth anymore than what he's making now, but somebody will offer him more, and Lou will let him go. I would hate to see him go, but I think it's safe to say...Jamie has played his last game for the Devils. I like Jamie too, even though he takes too many penalties and misses the net too much. Some team (Dallas?) is going to offer him a contract one or two pay tiers above what he's worth, probably in the $2.5 to $3 mil per year range. I can't see Lou matching that, and wouldn't blame him. I think Elias is gone too. Lou will do everything in his power to keep him, but I get the feeling Elias will go to some team that no one's even thought of yet. As much as I'll hate to see him go, I can't really get down on him for leaving. He's put his time in and has earned the right to see what's out there. I'm not going to chastise him should he choose to exercise his free agent rights. I'm sure some fans will really come down on him and call him a traitor, disloyal, etc., but what's the point of being a free agent if you're not allowed to take advantage of that opportunity? If he leaves, I'll remember the two Cups Elias was a part of, the A-line, and all the other great memories Elias provided. I also think Lou learned a lot from last year's Niedermayer mess, and will likely have a strong Plan B in place this time around. Last year's off-season disasters notwithstanding, Lou has survived the losses of star players before, and always seems to find a way to adapt, even if it's not always obvious at first glance. Belizarius
Goalie: No problem Defense: Slow. Late on play. Can't join the rush. No big shot from the blue line on the PP. Keep Rafalski, Martin, Hale. White is OK. Matvichuk OR Lukowich. Add a puck moving d-man, with some speed. Forwards: Keep Gomez, lone player who managed to break the trap. Gionta, obvisously. Elias, if possible. Madden-Pandolfo were interesting factors and knows their roles, good for it. Janssen, young, can hit, knows his role but needs to score a little bit to play at least 10 minutes a game. Langenbrunner... need to stop dumb penalties but wasn't as bad in this series. Keep Parise, of course. Dump the rest, no offense, no speed, no ice time so useless.
