Cracker5
Pro Football Talk reports that the Ravens have added former Dolphins coach Cam Cameron to their coaching staff.Though no title has been released, it's believed that Cameron has beaten out Eagles QB coach Pat Shurmur as Jon Harbaugh's offensive coordinator. Cameron's experience with LaDainian Tomlinson and Ronnie Brown bodes well for Willis McGahee's 2008 production. MantaRay
^Rotoworld.Cam is the most overrated offensive coordinator in the NFL. Some consider him an "offensive guru" and/or an "offensive genius" but that's simply not the case. I know Ravens fans were sick of Brian Billick, but believe me, you were better off with him as an offensive coordinator. Don't get me wrong, the Ravens running attack will be awesome. Willis McGahee will be amazing next season, not only running the nicely drawn up powers, traps, counters, draws, isos (and Statue of Libertys lol), but out of the backfield with flares/swings, screens, etc. He will definitely have a monster year, barring injury. Book it! However, the pass play calling is horrendous! Cam shows no imagination here at all. Everything is underneath, timing routes, like little outs and curls. There is no deep ball in this offense, so Yamon Figurs fans, don't get pissed when you don't air it out to him. Hey, hopefully Cam proves me wrong in Baltimore. Maybe he just choked from being the head coach AND offensive coordinator in Miami?
Cracker5
F@#$! When the hell is Ozzie Newsome going to learn. The tag "Offensive Genius" just means bad coach who has the benefit of having a unique game breaker compensating for bad play calling. Jesus F'n Christ!! This is Billick II. The season is over already in Baltimore regardless of having a superior defense.
MantaRay
You're going to love how McGahee plays this year though.
LOTCB
Personally I think coordinators are severely overrated and underrated more then head coaches. Billick was a "offensive genius" with Minnesota, but seriously, who WOULD NOT be with Randy Moss, Culpepper, Robert Smith, and Cris Carter??? Cracker5
However, Billick didn't have C'Pep. Daunte was drafted in '99, Billick's first year with the Ravens. He did have Randall Cunningham though...
