They both suck and both shouldn't be here. The honeymoon should have ended after the 2012 playoffs

I tend to agree with this. CBGB had a nice run, but its time for it to die. I'd rather have Carter than Bernier or Gionta though.

I'll be pissed if Carter goes to the Rangers, he was the best part of CBGB and we ended up with the other 2?  :doh1:  I'd can't imagine Bernier will be playing in the NHL with all these forwards we have.  You can count on one of Brunner or Ryder to be gone, but it depends on who you'd rather take a risk on.  Speedy Gonzales(Ryder) or "Can't even finish on his homework" Brunner.

Overall happy with the moves made so far.  I'll miss Fayne, but I'll get over it, I'm a Devils fan   and I can't even get my day started until we've lost a quality player to free agency.  Havlat could catch fire playing with Elias if he can stay healthy.  Hopefully Carter doesn't sign with the Rags and we can pick up this Sekac character on an entry deal.  As of today, we have a lot of forwards and even if we only drop one of them during the offseason, we'll be looking at a pretty deep forward group.

Sekac is gone. He signed with the Habs.

I don't think the Rags will sign Carter. Just a gut feeling. Then again, I thought Lou was signing Brian Gionta so there goes my part-time job as psychic reader.

I'm gonna tell my rags fan buddy to get a carter jersey tomorrow because your gut feelings have been waaay off over the past 48 hours.

Maybe Iginla?

Looks like I nailed that one. Tampa needed another top 4 defenseman. Stralman was the perfect fit. Once they cleared space, it was pretty obvious. Tampa has guys who can score. They needed to upgrade their back end. They added a quality top 4 for market value. Callahan apparently was a factor in bringing him and Boyle there.

They're not signing him. Moore re-signed for 2 years, $3 million. It's not even a need. They wasted $1.45 million on Tanner Glass. A mystifying move when afterwards Boyle took a discount to go to Tampa. Besides, they need to save for Brassard, Kreider, Zuccarello and J. Moore.

Kinda surprised Fayne wound up in Edmonton. But they needed D. Five years for Pouliot. Gee wiz.

The Rangers got worse today. That's a major plus.

Truth. But I don't feel too bad when no one else in the division improved. I like what the Jackets did picking up Hartnell.

yep, Carter should of stayed and bid farewell to Bernier & Gionta... You've gotta scratch your head and  say, "there we go again, another Lou misfit move"

Lamoriello pretty much gives his feeling about Gio's performance & role vs. Bernier:

"Stephen Gionta plays any role. He's like that sixth player on a basketball team. So it was a no-brainer to bring him back," the GM said. "Steve Bernier certainly did not have a good year.  We brought him back in an entry-level situation to resurrect his career and see how it goes."

Gionta is a cockroach we will never be rid of.   I mean, they really don't pay him anything, so it's not the end of the world, but you know they're gonna use him.  He's essentially the team mascot.   Who takes critical shifts late in the 3rd period.

Think they did okay setting up their roster.   Dunno if Cammalleri gets through his deal without getting bought out, but we'll see.   At least the kid defensemen will be able to play.
