Equipment Sale is on!

Nice to see familiar faces. I had a blast, here's to the wee hours next year!

I was 8th in, but although the VIP was well run and ALOT better, the Devils staff made an error that probably led to people getting more then they would have if the Devils did it like they were supposed to. When they checked you in with your ticket and ID, instead of holding the line at the sale entrance for everyone to catch up, they just let you in. They were supposed to hold the line when it got to 50 and then let everyone in. So the 1st 5 people in line got at least a 2 minute head start while 6-10, 11-20 and so forth were still being checked in. So each group was behind before it started. That is a big advantage.

I got there a litle before 8 and i was #94 in. What time did you get there to be #8? Just wondering for next year. I still got pretty much everything i was looking for. I got a Clarkson Easton S19, a Elias Warrior Dolomite Spyne, and a Dolomite DD. Im a righty so i had to convert the elias into a shaft. I tried the Clarkson for a bit and the curve on it is great. I'll have to pick up another next year.

I was also there & got some good sticks. Towards the end of the sale they dropped a few more sticks, I ended up picking up a bundle of 4 Elias S19 sticks. If anyone is interested in trading sticks or buying one let me know. Here is my email cgosha21@gmail.com If anyone has a Kovy stick I would be interested. Let me know

Chris

My wife and I were 19th & 20th and let's just say, I tapped the rooster on the shoulder when I got up to wake him. Most of the diehards where there very very early (before 4AM). I know of one that was there before 11AM the night before.

The overall selection was not what most expected, but the organization of keeping everyone in line the whole way from begining to end was fantastic. NO pushing, no diving, no threats, no line jumpers, and NO running past people who were ahead of you. That is all I wanted it to be: "FAIR". If you were ahead of someone it stayed like that. If something wasn't there because you weren't in line sooner, than shame on you. Everyone was in complete control of when they got there.

No game worns was a let down. Limited gloves and beside Maclean, Driver, and Marshall, I didn't see ANY alumni. The Devils cheerleaders were running a trivia game. The taller (and may say MOST attractive one) asked me a question to win a big prize (everything that was already in my free-bee bag). She said, "you look like you could answer a tough question. Here is an old one for you. Who scored the first Devils Goal at the Prudential Center."

I didn't even think before I said, "Brian Gionta".

She responed with, "Is that how you spell Gionta?" to the other girl with her... WOW nothing like not knowing anything about past players.

I lost out on only one thing I wanted. Just couldn't get there fast enough and didn't think anyone would want his stuff. Guess I was wrong.

I also got to ask Coach MacLean, "What did Kovy say when you called him up and told him how much you were looking forward to coaching him next season?" smile.gif It drew a laugh, so it was all good.

That was a good one. I happened to watching when you asked it.

oh and they definitely didn't bring more sticks out as the day progressed. last1 and i were hanging around the sticks for a bit because he saw a guy run to the back -- we thought maybe he was going to get more sticks, but nothing. there were maybe 20 sticks left by the time i was done browsing, and that was at about 12:30pm.

i liked that they had the random action figures for a buck. i got two tony amonte figures. had a good chuckle at the random berard fishsticks figures. i almost wanted to buy one and black out one of his eyes but i figured it would have been a little mean so i decided against it haha.

they also had really sweet 95 heaven posters but they were 20 bucks -- little too expensive for my liking. the brodeur book was on sale as well for something like 10 bucks. not bad.

oh and jwomp -- the rats shirt i got was a youth size anyway, they only had really small shirts left for the most part for the calder cup. my buddy joy (gordie) got a sick a line tshirt haha.

they've had those action figures for years. did they still have like 100 Yashin's? it's amazing what kind of random crap they have.

TONS of Yashin, Roenick, Yzerman, Amonte. It was amusing as hell. It's funny how much of that crap must get shoved away into storage, only to come out once a year for this thing.

I totally bought a Jeremy Roenick Picasso-style Coyotes jersey one. First Startling Lineup figure I've added to my Brodeur/Richer pair ever.

Do any of the game used experts now what was with the bunch of Rolston sticks with the cut shafts? I know he doesn't use a stick that short. I was thinking about getting one but i just didnt know what was up with that.

He has a very unique, tapered butt end on his sticks that he removes when he's done with them, making the stick shorter.

I'm kinda glad I missed this. Doesnt seem like there were any players there signing and I would have been peeved if there were slim pickings on the sticks by the time I got in.

I just find it hard to believe that we are in the start of June already, and they havent released the date.

How do they make you pay for this stuff? Are there people at the doors taking money or something? I want to be mentally prepared so I dont loose my sh!t at the stadium and cry and or soil myself.

Calm down buddy. There is no link. You cannot buy VIP tickets. The only VIP passes this year were given to season ticket holders for renewing their season ticket plans. The only way you can get them is to buy them from a season ticket holder, and as of now, we don't even know if that's a viable option because nobody has gotten their email yet and nobody knows if they are transferable. You can stop posting in nine different threads about the same thing.
