With the Major League Baseball season but 2 days away now, I thought it would be interesting to get a view on who everyone thinks is going to win each division championship and the teams that will be in the World Series. We can look back at this in October and see how we all did.

My picks:

AL East: Boston Red Sox :puke:

AL Central: Minnesota Twins

AL West: Texas Rangers

NL East: Philadelphia Phillies

NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals

NL West: San Francisco Giants

AL Champion: Boston Red Sox 2x :puke:

NL Champion: Philadelphia Phillies

AL East: Red Sox

AL Central: White Sox

AL West: Rangers

AL Wild Card: Yankees

NL East: Phillies

NL Central: Brewers

NL West: Giants

NL Wild Card: Braves

I didn't pick them to win the Wild Card, but think the Rays could surprise people. I don't think there is much more than couple wins [if that] that separate them and the Yankees. Their trade of Garza, who is pretty overrated, was a great one, even if the 2 main prospects (Lee and Archer) aren't likely going to contribute this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Hellickson is better than Garza this year either. Losing Crawford hurt, but their outfield still looks very good with Damon-Upton-Zobrist/Joyce, and then there is Desmond Jennings who will be waiting in the wings if someone falters or gets hurt. Manny for the price looks like it will be a big bargain.

I'm not really as high on the Giants as others. I still think they'll win that division, but relying on guys like Huff, Miguel Tejada, Sandoval, Freddy Sanchez, Burrell, and Ross is still a bit scary. I think a lot can go wrong there. The sooner they get Brandon Belt up (maybe as soon as Opening Day?) and find a real shortstop, the better they should be. Their rotation is great on the other hand, but its not like they are a sure-thing to stay healthy.

The Central divisions in each league are pretty much wide open. You can't really go wrong picking the White Sox, Twins, or Tigers in the AL and the same can be said for the Brewers, Reds, or Cardinals in the NL. The Twins are not doing themselves any favors though by kicking Slowey out of the rotation. The Wild Card races should be fun too.

I think the Red Sox are the best team in baseball. Adrian Gonzalez should put up MVP-like numbers now that hes out of that park where left-handed hitters go to die. If they can stay healthy, the are my World Series pick.

I'm so happy baseball is back. I can't wait until Opening Day. By the way, if anyone is interested, MLB Extra Inning is doing their yearly 1-week trial. I don't ever buy it because I don't need it, but its awesome to have the first week of the season to watch a bunch of games and its free. There is also a ton of games slated to be on ESPN on Thursday and Friday.

Here's to a fun season.

The Phillies staff will be more than enough to get them to the World Series and a classic matchup with Boston should await them.

Phillies win the series in 6 games. Too many Aces....
