I thought I read somewhere -- maybe in an email or something -- that this is Kids Opening Day. I hope a lot of kids show up to this game and become future diehard Devils fans. I'll be there with my wife and 3-year-old.

And of course I hope the Devils win.

Go Devils!

Or as some would say...it's the:

jersey-devil-02.jpgVS 234354_Hurricane-from-Outer-Space-Posters.jpg

With a disappointing start to the season versus the Flyers, the Devils will look to rebound in an impactful way against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes have been known to dive their way to success even with a talented front line, so watch those small tugs on em boys!

Predicted Devils Line Up:

Ilya Kovalchuk - Jacob Josefson - Nick Palmieri

Mattias Tedenby - Dainius Zubrus - David Clarkson

Eric Boulton - Adam Henrique - Brad Mills

Andy Greene - Adam Larsson

Henrik Tallinder-Mark Fayne

Bryce Salvador-Anton Volchenkov

Mark Fraser-Anton Stralman

Johan Hedberg

Martin Brodeur

Predicted "Caniacs" Line Up: (May change, they did lose the first 2 games of the season which means we should win but you never know because the hurricanes always beat us the stupid diving no good players they are that we all hate especially when they dive and do things that we slnafeawoivnabr.blah blah blah....)

Skinner - Staal - Ruutu

Tlusty - Jokinen - LaRose

Ponikarovsky - Sutter - Dwyer

Stewart - Brent - Dalpe

Pitkanen - Gleason

Kaberle - Faulk

Allen - Harrison

Ward

Boucher

Fun picture time!!!

Hope to see this man stop alot of pucks!

Would LOVE this: (NEWARK, NJ - FEBRUARY 08: Goalie Cam Ward #30 of the Carolina Hurricanes is beaten for a goal by Mattias Tedenby #21 of the New Jersey Devils as the puck is in midair just crossing the goal line during the second period of an NHL hockey game at the Prudential Center on February 8, 2011 in Newark, New Jersey.)

How is Wyatt? My three-year-old is great...hoping to bring her to least 2-3 games this season.

Yeah, a win would be nice. It's a small sample, but based on what I saw in preseason and Game 1, this is feeling like a transition year to me, so my expectations aren't very high. Doesn't mean that I don't hope I'm wrong though.

My boy is good, thanks. I took him to the preseason game versus the Isles and he was very fidgety, but he likes being there, so hopefully the more he goes to games, the sooner he gets acclimated to the whole experience. Whenever you decide to bring Natalie (?), let me know. Maybe we could meet up.

I guess "transition year" might be the best way to describe this season. I know we barely know him, but there is something aout DeBoer. I have a good feeling about him.

My prediction is that, if the Devils end up winning this game, they will either:

1) Have outscored the opposition through 60 minutes of regulation play.

2) Have outscored the opposition through 60-plus minutes of combined regulation play and overtime play.

3) Have outscored the opposition in the post-overtime shootout.

Take it to the bank, people!
