5 Reed, Ed S Ravens [/b][/i]

BTW Manta, i'm sure you've seen this video already but if not it's a must... one of the reasons why, over any cowboy, ed reed is my favorite football player in the NFL.

The back-story: the canes #1 in the country, against mega-rival and #6 in the country FSU. Captain Joakim tells the team before the game that the only thing they should do is go out and pummel the sh!t out of the Noles. Only up 13-10 after the first half, Ed Reed blows up in the locker room:

"I'm hurt, dawg. Don't ask me if I'm alright -- hell no. Joakim said dominate, and we're not doing it. I'm putting my heart into this sh!t, man. Let's go"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG_f1GzmwHo

He picks off 3 passes in the second half and returns one of them for a touchdown.

The canes win 44-10, en route to an undefeated season and a 55-13 win in the National Championship game with one of the greatest college football teams ever assembled.

I hate how much the canes make me love the Ravens.

Why? Firstly I hate player lists, they're stupid....second I didn't watch the damn thing.....and 3rd of all any list that thinks him in the top 10 (at his PRESENT age) is just foolish anyway....Aaron Rodgers just single handedly manned his team to a Super Bowl and he's not even in the top 10....go play Madden if you need a football fix :P

Pay homage to the INCREDIBLE scoring goalie!!!! :-)

I saw CRASHER trip a kid on skates and then he stole the kids lunch money and slapped his mom when she came to pick him up.. All because the kid looked at his crease

Ray Lewis is still the most significant defensive player in the game today. No other player, perhaps arguably other than Reed or Polamalu, get more pre-snap attention from opposing quarterbacks than Ray does.

No some of us actually love our sports enough to go out and play, and a doubleheader in goalie pads in a place that didn't feel like putting on the A/C will knock ANYONE out, thanks!

He's not even in the Top 5 for LAST YEAR....forget all time.... the U has blinded y'all....maybe a top 5 MLB, but certainly not a top 5 linebacker even

** this is said with the caveat that is simply impossible to take a great player from 20-30 years ago (or later when a "big man" was 280, and now a 280 pound O-Lineman plays in Canada)....the size, speed and superior training method of the modern athlete gives them a serious ridiculous advantage over a player who was likely as good if not better 20+ years ago that you will never be able to account for fairly!

According to this NFL players poll last season he was the 4th best player in the league at ANY position.

He will probably go down in history as the best linebacker EVER
